5.0 out of 5 stars Yo Joe!, March 22, 2009

This review is from: G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero (Video Game)
The two existing reviews for this game are kind of hard to follow, so here's mine. General Hawk has been kidnapped, and you must lead a group of his five strongest soldiers on a rescue mission. For each mission, you may select three of them. Some Joes are better suited to a specific area than others.

Each level culminates in a boss fight, and one of each set of three levels is a bombing raid, where you set explosive charges to take out the cobra base.

It's a great game, whether or not you enjoyed the figures or the show growing up. It's easy to learn, with a few tricky spots to it. It's hard, too; every time you beat the game you have to start again with one less soldier. You don't see the real ending unless you beat the entire game using only one Joe per level. (edit: I misspoke. The third time through you can still use two men, but the difficulty is ratcheted up another notch)

There's also a power-up system. Your Joes can collect gun icons which make their weapons more powerful, and chevrons, which extend their lifebars. This adds a strategic element to the game. The only annoying thing is that you lose some of them when you die. Fortunately, the game gives out passwords, so you can save your power level, but that means you've got to input the password each time. A minor quibble.

Great game. A real collector's item for real American heroes.

This game is maddddddd fun. I cant recommend it enough and was blown away when i bought it last year. Being a previous owner of the atlantis factor (circa 91-92) i decided to give this game a shot thinking it was gonna be lacking compared to 2 (atlantis). BOY!!!! was i wrong this game blows that game out of the water (and atlantis factor is a good game). I noticed the price has dropped from 20 to 10 on this game (i bought the game to close too the movie i had no interest in i guess?) and i think you would be a fool to pass this game up considering at 20 it was one of the few high end nes games i felt satisfied with the purchase of (high end nes = over like 12 bucks). Lets put it this way, the best way i can describe this game is as fun and its definately in my top 5 nes games of all time if for that reason alone (although for nes graphics, the graphics are above average). Excuse This Rushed Review and My Poor Grammer and if you want info on the gameplay and such, read the other reviews and/or look it up on a gamesite BUT i promise you,you wont be disappointed...............PEACE!!!!!!!!!

Here are boss static for the G I joe acrade game that is also no avilable portable on the NES or Super NEs system so the static may be the same if there the same boss and stages reformated. If you loved the cartoon show growing up and the couple short animated low budget movies they have made in the last 110 years like the Sigma six movie you might find the game for nes up your allying and worth the challange to complete if you got the patience If you want to figure out your own strategies and not do stuff similar to the one done on this speed run of the aracade formated version you can close this page now. The first boss has High damage resitance of about 50% to damage that's a estimate because count the exact amount of hits was hard, because the boss sometime attacks from a distance and sometimes minions and tanks take the damage instead. That pluse this bobba feet like terriost has decent agality ability sometimes for long distance shoots and movement speed is faster. This game is hard about three continues were used in about the first 11 minutes and 37 seconds of playing time do to the high moving speed of your characters and the cobra minions and bosses. So don't be surpised if this one takes several months to be able to beat it in nes format in this quick time spann of about 30 minutes to a hour more or less. The second boss has about a 19 to 25% damge resitance due the heav armor on it flying ship weapon that looks some what like slave one but more massive. So about 19 to 25 close or long range shoot more or less will bring down this mechanical titan. The next boss has a 57% damage restiance so you will have shut it multiple time before the base entrace blows open and you can enter. If you have infinite contiunes go Tony Mando on the next stage there blast every terriost boss and enemy machine that comes in firing range you can not accidental shot your other team mates like in Area fifty one or civillans in Maxium force I belive is what it's called. The next boss the doctor doom like guys has a 35% percent resitace to damage of the maxium damage cable of being deliver with out force shield or auto heal abilities persent like that annoy sub boss in star fox 64. After a massive amount of hits for the final boss fight of about 135 or 135% damage resitance shoot total which I dont think he has a resitance that high cobra commander will go down. I think the shot fired when the barrier around him similar to that used by Mechagodzilla in super godzilla if you try to use the heat beam or the super heat beam reduces or cuts the damage down in half or does no damage at all. Take down these annoying bosses with out cheats in under 38 minutes with out and emulator or invulerabiltiy and you are total bless with the sub machine gun. The battle is over go Joe!
