A Great Cartoon Comes Back Again,

I'm glad I was able to finally get the second season of this wonderful series and while many kids today probably would never believe it this cartoon series was a lot more popular than many high hitting t.v. shows in the 80's. Many of the stories and situations they would do in the episodes will of of course not make much sense to kids today like the Soviet Unions G.I. Joe version team which had a serious dislike for each other since the U.S.S.R has been gone for about two decades and other smaller things that were going on in the early 80's, The video and audio for this set was very good considering the condition the originals were probably in and the added extras are a nice touch as well. This box set also pretty much ends the turn of the series as well as the movie that came out saw the end of the 80's series run pretty much, yes I know they have made a few new shows of this but none of those will ever match the entertainment and quality of the 80's original series. Sadly this set will be the last episodes of the beloved 80's version of G.I.Joe as after episode 95 they made the G.I.Joe movie that would showcase the last time the voice cast would do their character roles, of course there was an attempt to restart the series in the 90's with just the actor who did the voice for Cobra Commander Chris Latta but that didn't really take with the fans of the beloved 80's version. And while there have been newer versions of this beloved series I like I'm sure many other fans of the original series have never really bothered to look at these newer attempts at remaking a great earlier version, So for the kids of the 80's here's a great box set that has finally come out for us to enjoy....

I am so excited that GI Joe is on DVD & have added it to the list of DVDs I have purchased of cartoons from my childhood! The 1980s was the best decade to be a kid in!

If you like the old cartoons like thundercats and transformers, then you'll love G.I. Joe. It's easier to appreciate how awesome the cartoon is when you watch it as an adult because a lot of the ridiculousness that escaped you as a child is very obvious now. I would recommend this show to anyone and the dvd copies are great as far as audio and video. G.I. Joe is a true classic that will probably be enjoyed forever. It is certainly better than any cartoons that currently air and fits the old saying of 'they just don't make them like they used to'.

This show has may seem like a relic to some. To me it was a great show that combined the talents of great Marvel comics writers. Steve (Howard the Duck) Gerber was story editor and writer. Gerry Conway, Marv Wolfman and Martin Pasko wre the best Marvel Comics writers to write for this series. They elevated the stories into something entertaining that stood the test of time. The animation was colorful and good for resources that were available. What I liked about this was the portrayal of good vs. evil. The good guys were good and the bad guys were bad. There was no grey area where you felt sympathy for the villians. Too many of todays cartoon dramas focus on making the villian a sympathetic character. Cobra, Destro and the rest were focused on one goal. World domination. The Joes had one goal. Taking out the enemy, Cobra. It was a bold and colorful drama, and a formula that shouldn't be tampered with. Accept no imataitons. If you want to see the real G.I. Joe, watch the animated show. The live action movie is just an imatation.

What can I say? I'm an 80's kid. Never really left. I've picked up every release to date and was very upset that samslcub didn't carry the last volume! Amazon made it so easy to get. Love Prime! If you like G.I. Joe, then you'll love this last volume.

This product from a design standpoint is way way better than the previous version. It's conceptual, organized, and the colors keep its unified and cohesive. I feel bad for the buyers who bought the previous version that were missing seasons that never came out. This product on the other hand has all of them.

Watching these old GI Joe shows really take me back! I know everyone been saying something thing like this but the hummer these show have. Small jokes really catches me now more then it did back them. Love the action but its the little things that make its great! Love the trash talk between Wet Suit and Sarge! I can't wait for some of the other movies that came out. Like GI Joe and Cobra joining up to take out a drug lord! I know there more other seasons and I be waiting for them and ordering them as they come out!!

I remember this show when I was a kid growing up and have been waiting for years to be able to collect it on DVD. At last someone had the good sense to put it on DVD. The picture quality and sound are very good considering how old the material is. Now you can enjoy the struggles of the Joes against Cobra and watch Cobra Commander and his cohorts bicker and squabble to your hearts contentment. This is a collection that no kid who grew up in the 1980s should be without. This series is right up there with He-Man, Transformers, and others that made the 1980s a great time for cartoons.
