About the Artist

Jerome Sable & Eli Batalion are a multi-talented writing and performing duo who have toured their innovative musical projects for over six years. They are both musically-trained (Sable completed the 10-year McGill Conservatory of Music program in piano, music theory and ear training with High Distinction, Batalion studied classical piano for five years before teaching himself guitar, bass and drums and touring extensively with Rhode Island’s Zox) and educated (Sable and Batalion both graduated from the Ivy League’s Brown University with honors and magna cum laude degrees respectively). Most notably, they are well-seasoned performers, having performed at the Just For Laughs Festival (sharing the stage with Sinbad and Lewis Black), Edinburgh Fringe Festival (selected for the PRS Music Stage), The Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre (New York), HERE Arts Center (New York), The Actor’s Gang (Los Angeles), Second City Mainstage (Toronto), The Comic Strip (New York), Stand! -Up New York, People’s Improv Theatre (New York), the Tarragon Theatre (Toronto), The Centaur Theatre (Montreal), the Waterfront Theatre (Vancouver) and dozens of other venues across North America (including over 25 Fringe Theatre Festivals). Their work has won a variety of awards including BEST NEW PLAY for “JOB: The Hip-Hop Musical” by the Montreal English Critics Circle and Best New Text by Chapters Bookstore as well as “Critic’s Choice” by the Georgia Strait for best play of the 2004 Vancouver Fringe Festival with “JOB II: The Demon of the Eternal Recurrence.” They have toured their work to over 20 cities to date in three countries (Canada, the US and the UK). They have been nominated for 2 Dora Mavor Moore Awards (Toronto), 5 Betty Mitchell Awards (Calgary) and 1 Sterling Award (Edmonton). They have received more than two dozen 5-STAR reviews from various media, including the Toronto Star, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and the Winnipeg Free Press, and have earned over 100 reviews of praise for their different works. They have made over 60 television and radio appearances in Canada, the US and the UK (most recently an 8-minute piece on BBC Radio) and have been broadcast nationally on eight occasions. Joe Barrucco is a multi-talented producer, engineer, and composer who worked for MC Mario for 4 years before teaming up with Sable & Batalion. He has been nominated for 3 Juno Awards (Canadian Grammy equivalent).

Hey people. I saw these guys live on Friday April 14th and picked up the album while i was at the show. I have to say that it was extremely entertaining. These guys have great chemistry on stage and play the crowd wonderfully and on top of all that there music is AMAZING>>>>>> i've been listening to there album over and over and every time i hear it, i catch a new joke or crazy HOOK. You got to get this album these guys are the next big thing to look out for , i just know it..

I first saw these guys in New York two years ago where they blew me away with their "JOB" play. I just caught their show "Hip-Hop 4 Dummeez" in Toronto and bought the CD. I have to say, not only is this lyrically one of the most inspiring albums I've ever heard (I don't know how they come up with this stuff!) but the music is extraordinary (I wasn't necessarily expecting that). For someone who never bought a hip-hop album in his life, this was a great way to start.
