I like the over all look of this watch. It has a bigger face than most G Shock watches. The Bluetooth feature is very useful. However, if you an iPhone user, please be aware that this watch is incapable of using it's notifications for iMessages. That is something I did not know prior to purchasing this watch. The iPhone app is very user friendly with this watch and I like how you can customize the settings from it's app.

I do not know if I got a defective model but I could only connect my watch to my phone the first time. If I tried to reconnect again it would fail every damn time! The only way I could connect again would be to UNPAIR it from the G SHOCK+ app and also my phone and start again. If my watch was connected to my phone and I left my phone in that room and I walked into another room my watch would disconnect, then it would try to find my phone but would not be able to connect again. This was extremely frustrating for me. There is no point of having a Bluetooth watch if I can't use the Bluetooth feature on it and be able to connect on the fly. So I returned it and instead I ordered a GDX 6900-1. same shape and size but with the 10 year battery. The battery on this Bluetooth watch is estimated to last 2 years with 12 hour usage per day. So if the Bluetooth feature turned on 24 /7 the battery will last you one year. The thing I have to say about this Bluetooth watch is that it is very beautiful. I hope one day they get all the bugs fixed on it. But until then I would recommend a full-blown SmartWatch. By the way this watch is only recommended to be use on iPhone 5's and up and the newest Samsung phones go figure.

This was my first G-Shock, as I have opted for Suuntos and other digital watches that were less bulky. I am glad I gave this thing a try. Although it does not do alerts for all the features of my iPhone, it still does most of them and I am happy with that. It eats the battery super fast, but phones can be charged I suppose and I don't wear it all the time. Cool product for the gadget freak like me.

This watch is awesome it does everything it needs too exactly as advertised by Casio G-Shock. All the more interesting is that I have a Samsung Galaxy SII SGH-I727 rooted with CM11 (Android 4.4 KitKat) and it still works fine. It was a shock to me, no pun intended, that my phone was compatible with this watch because if you go to G-Shocks official website it says its only compatible with Samsung Galaxy S4, S5, and Note 3 however after doing more research of my own, this watch is actually compatible with any Android phone so long as its running Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) or 4.4 (KitKat) weather it be a custom ROM or official Android release. Ive never owned an iPhone so I cant tell you about that and also dont know about weather or not this watch will work with Android 5.0 (Lollipop), sorry.

I really like this watch overall. I would have given it 5 stars except that there are a couple items that are not even a negative, but an annoyance. First, like others have mentioned, it doesn't receive text message notifications when using an iPhone. The other is that this is the bigger version (the other not having the "x" in the model name). I DID know this when I purchased it thinking it was only a couple millimeters bigger than the "normal" version so it would be ok. Those millimeters make quite the difference. I wish I could upload pictures to show how much of a difference it is. I was wearing a Casio G-Shock DW9052-1V before and it's a rather "large" difference. Another thing is the band does not swivel; it is "stuck" in the "around your arm" position, whereas with my DW, the band is able to move, like an open and close motion.

The app is free and is very user friendly and easy to navigate around in. You can set everything from whether you want it to vibrate, produce a beep or both or none; along with setting the alert duration: 2, 5, or 10 seconds. I also like the fact that there is a power saving mode that you can set to automatically disconnect the bluetooth when there is little to no activity. I haven't tested whether it will auto re-connect if it's only been a short amount of time (I suspect it will because it does when you go out of range for a short time and come back), but I do know that if you take the watch off at night it will not automatically re-connect in the morning...you have to go in to the app and manually re-connect. That is an easy, quick and painless procedure, but it's there.

Again, these are all just minor annoyances, but thought i'd point out to future owners. I wish I could have found the GB-6900 (normal size) but all I could find were the original A models. Overall, great watch and glad I bought it. I've only messed with it a little and have not explored the music control functionality yet.

Really like this watch, but not for the Bluetooth functions. If you buy this expecting it to do what an Android Wear watch does, you'll be disappointed. At a very high level, all this watch's Bluetooth functions boil down to is this: it notifies you when you get a call/email/tweet/Facebook post. I carry my phone in my pocket all the time, so this is really not useful to me. If paired with an iOS phone, there's no caller ID, which really blows (I bought this thinking I could look at my watch without pulling out my phone and deciding to take or ignore a call -- can't do this connected to iOS, I suspect, because Apple is really stringent on what phone functions they let app developers access).
I don't use the music controls at all since I don't use my phone for music much anymore (have dedicated DAP now).
Still, the watch has classic G-Shock looks and toughness -- and those are really the main reasons I bought it -- the Bluetooth functions were nice-to-haves. Just know that if you don't need the Bluetooth functionality, you'd be better served getting one of G-Shock's other watches at a lower cost.

Nice watch, different features depending on the operating system of your phone, has about the distance o most headsets iv had which really isn't all that amazing but can't really complain, using the g shock app isn't as convenient as the other available app but using the other will void warranty according to that other company so the only down side to this watch is really that not only does it have the potential but the ability to do more, but casio limits what you can make it do, also the instructions are kinda bland that come with it, more of a general pamphlet for their watches instead of being specific to this specific watch, other than that it's a great watch, it shipped fast and the seller seems intent to please the customer

The watch is a nice looking piece. It has your basic functions such as timer, stopwatch , alarm, etc. But the selling point is the Bluetooth compatibilty. It seemed like an interesting concept and worked for the first few days.

And then I upgraded my android phone to lollipop

After that the G-SHOCK does not connect to my phone AT ALL. So basically I paid $200 (purchased the watch at the store) for a watch whose features I can't even use. If you're thinking of buying this watch, I'd say go look at the G-SHOCKS, there's plenty of nice ones. I really hope Casio gets it together and fices the bugs on the app because this is a promising watch, a cross between smart technology and ruggedness.

Took a few tries to get the watch to pair with my phone. There are actually several different models that showed up as an option, just keep trying you will find the right one.
Once paired it works great. I like the fact that when I am in a meeting I don't have to pick up my phone to see who is texting or calling.
( However I guess it looks like I'm in a hurry to get out of the meeting because I keep looking at my watch.lol) I give it a five star because it does everything promised by G shock. I wish you could actually read the text on your watch but just knowing who its coming from helps me out.
