The pump itself works great, highly recommended. That said, this pump, the WP10, requires a discharge hose in order to be effective. As the other reviewer noted, this hose is difficult to find. Contrary to their review, I have confirmed with the manufacturer's website that its a 1.25" hose that you need. Its going to be better to just purchase the WP25 kit because it comes with this hose in an 8' length and you can locate it for about the same price if you know where to look. If 8' is not long enough for you, you'll have to try going with another hose.... just keep in mind 1.5" doesn't really fit that well... I tried a 1.5" sump pump discharge hose and ended up having to really bend the hose to get it to form a vaccuum.

HOWEVER.....only ONE star for the SELLER! NOWHERE in their product description do they say; "discharge hose sold seperately"!! Very deceptive! I had owned one of these years ago & it came WITH the discharge hose! Had "Crazy Dave's" description indicated I needed to ALSO buy the discharge hose, I would have done so! The illustration
SHOWS the pump WITH the hose! Now, I have to re-order & wait AGAIN for delivery. I have no choice since I ordered two pumps & have NO hoses! I would NEVER order from this company again!

The pump is a very good product but is sold by Amazon without drain hose with a special fitting that is required for the pump to be used at all. I found it necessary to go to another vendor and purchase the hose. This pump is sold by other vendors with the hose included. This is an oversight not up to Amazon standards. Do not buy the pump without the hose.

This pump works and does what it's supposed to. The only thing that I didn't like was that it did not come with a discharge hose, nor does it have suggestions of where to get a discharge hose. I bought a 1.25" discharge hose separately, but the connection was not the same. Luckily, the hose came with a clamp that I was able to make work. What I do like about this pump is that once the suction is started with the garden hose, you can turn the water off, and the pump will continue to work, as long as it's submerged. Definately does the job.

This product requires a 1 1/2" discharge hose that is sold separately. I could not find it in Home Depot or orher local retailers. A few plumbing supply places I checked out didn't have it either - so I had to order that part on the internet as well, from another supplier, costing me extra time, effort, and shipping. It would've been nice to be able to buy both here.
