Product Description

G7 Power introduces the only dimmable, 300 Lumen, 5 Watt, MR16 bulb with a lifetime guarantee. It will replace 35-Watt halogens while using only a fifth of the power. A 20-Watt Halogen MR16 puts out approximately 200 lumens. Utilizing high quality CREE LEDs, this MR16 provides a warm white color temperature that falls between incandescent light and pure white light. This bulb is comparable to the Phillips Endured 7W MR16 and the Eco smart ECS 16 WW FL. The G7 MR16 contains 3 by 3-Watt LEDs operating at an overall 5-Watt. In this configuration, each LED is operating well below its maximum wattage. This allows the bulb to run much cooler and last much longer than lesser quality MR16's that over drive their LEDs. Common uses for this bulb include track lighting, pendant lighting, desk lamps, retail display lighting and many office building applications. G7 Power is located in Reno, Nevada and is dedicated to providing free market solutions without the help of your federal tax dollars.

I'm about to buy about a dozen more.
G. Trewitt
The bulbs color temperature is described as "warm white" so I knew what I was getting and it works very well.
Geobrick
I tried to change out the dimmer, but this didn't improve these issues.

First, size... One thing that's vexed me about LED replacements for MR16 bulbs that this one gets right: These are exactly the same size as a regular halogen MR16. In fact, it's a little annoying, because I had to keep the heat shield and diffuser to get a good fit. I'll have to find a way to tighten up the spring - I'm pretty sure that the heat shield will prevent the LED's cooling fins from doing their job. (I haven't done this, but also haven't had any problems after 3 weeks.)

I just bought one of these to replace a 35 watt (50W equivalent) Philips conventional halogen (one of four over my dining table). Note that halogen lights vary widely in light output / watt. The Philips has the same light output as common 50 watt bulbs. These are in recessed fixtures.

The light output at 100% is indistinguishable from the halogens, and it dims down perfectly. At 20% (my dimmers are electronic and digital-controlled, so 20% is 20%), the light is a bit brighter than the halogens, but they are pretty much down to an orange glow. In any case, the dimming range is the best I've ever seen for a non-incandescent light. It doesn't have the "warm" orange color at low levels, but that's just fine with me.

There are plenty of LED lights that aren't dimmable by any dimmer I've tried. My understanding is that there's fancy new technology in the LED drivers that actually recognize the "shape" of the power input and analyzes it to figure out what the dimmer is trying to do. This is pretty cool stuff, but it means that if an LED or CFL doesn't say "dimmable", you can be pretty sure that it's *not* dimmable.

Update (+3 weeks): I've replaced all 4 of the lights over my dining table, and performance is still flawless after 3 weeks. They don't flicker of flake out, as I've seen reported for other LED "bulbs". I'm about to buy about a dozen more.

As good as their E26 bulbs (of which I have a few). Good color, spread, exact size, and doesn't run hot. One of the bulbs flickers slightly when first turned on and then settles down fine. Been using it for a few hours every day for the past few months and works fine. Tried some high priced ones from a chinese deal site - they were awful (color quality and flickering). These are the best I have found.

I bought G7's 9watt led light bulb and it works fantastic!! it actually pulls only about 6-7 watts and is BRIGHT! Thought I'd try their MR16 LED and was disappointed. The light output was great when it worked. However, the bulb would shut off and turn back on then shut off again after 30mins of use. I felt the bulb and it was extremely hot to the touch. I'm thinking it was shutting off because it got to hot then once it cooled, it would turn back on again only to shut off yet again once it got hot again. I may have gotten a defective bulb but I returned it to amazon and will try another brand. Manufacturer offered to replace it if I sent it to them but I didnt want to incur any added cost shipping it to them since I could return to amazon for free. that said if you need a E26 base light bulb get the G7 one!! oh mine made no noise at all.

I am not happy with this bulb. It said 9W led but it is even not as bright as my 6W led I got in home depot. I returned to amazon and their service is OK. I don't care the guarantee but I really need them to be bright! That's why I order that but I am so disappointed.
