Product Description

Color: Silver

Awarded gold medals for most innovative new product and best overall capo in the 2008 Players Choice Awards, the G7th Performance Capo is a revolutionary new mechanism that allows ultra-precise placement and clamping without pulling the strings of your instrument out of tune. It's is easily squeezed into place with one hand, and released using the lever on the back. When not in use, it stores neatly on the end of your instrument's headstock. This version is designed for classical guitars.

The G7th Performance for classical guitars.
The G7th Performance capo's patented clutch mechanism consists of just three elements: a fixed hub, a moving hub, and a spring whose inside diameter is just slightly smaller than the outside diameter of the two hubs. When the spring is forced over the two hubs, attempting to rotate in the direction which opens the capo wraps it down tightly on the hubs, positively engaging them.

Rotation in the other direction, to tighten the capo onto the strings, is not restricted. To release the capo, the control tang is moved in the direction to unwind the spring, thus releasing the clutch.

How To Use a G7th Performance Capo

Push the small black lever to release the arms Position the capo just behind the fret Squeeze to tighten from above or below Press the small black lever to release Store on the headstock when not in use

This product is truly amazing. I was a little hesitant, becuase of the price, but based on the other reviews, I took the plunge. This thing is simply the highest quality capo I have ever used. It is worth every penny.

Here are the pros:

1) A retarded monkey could figure out how to use this thing within about 12 seconds.

2) The build quiality is so good that I believe you could run over this thing with a MAC truck and gig with it the same night without a back-up.

3) You have excellent control over the tension

4) It is very safe. I use this on my US made Jackson soloist and US Washburn N4 with no fear that it will harm the finish. It has plenty of padding in all the right places.

The Cons:

1) if you are reading this, you must not have one. That is all.

The price is not a con. When you get this, you will see that it is well worth the cheddar. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for.

I've been playing the guitar for 40 years, and have tried my share of gizmos, gadgets and capos. Without question, the G7th capo is best that I've experienced. I let a few friends try it, and they ordered their own G7th capos. I've purchased two more for Christmas gifts. The quality is matched only by the outstanding performance. If you use a capo, you'll really love this one!

This new type and design of capos, manufactued in England (and warranteed for life) is truly wonderful. Available in six and twelve string steel-string as well as a new classical version, they are all easy to use, solidly built and - perhaps most importantly, easy to put on and take off with one hand without having to retune! For a musician, this is the most cricial element - that, and that it is 'kind' to the materials used in the manufacture of a good guitar. I use mine on a Martin HD28 and have had no problems whatsoever. A great move toward a new generation of capos! Not cheap - but worth every cent.

I would not have ever imagined paying $45.00 for a capo for my Flamenco guitar. I've owned Shubb, Dunlop and Planet Waves (designed by Steinberger) and this wonderful capo outdoes them all and is worth the price.

I use it on my Guild GAD-C2NA classical guitar which I play Flamenco on. The style is aggressive and requires a good hold on the strings. This little capo is solid up and down the neck. No buzzing and a very snug fit is attained easily. The capo can be moved and removed with the push and pull of a lever. It's simplicity is it's strength. It also comes with a lifetime warranty.

When handling the capo you will feel how heavy and solid it is. If you are looking for something light and cheap -- this is not your capo. If you are willing to make the investment for your playing, you won't be disappointed. This is a GREAT capo!!

Kudos!

Pretty much just echoing what everyone has said so far...

This capo is awesome!

Just squeeze the clamp to your liking and it will freeze into place. Pull the thumb lever and it releases. Easy to attach, remove, and re-attach with one hand. I also appreciate the thick rubber stoppers in protecting the neck.

I was a bit wary at first, due to the price, but the second I used it I knew it was worth every penny.

Every time there's a new capo on the market, I buy it. Always searching for the ideal capo. Shubbs are the original standard, but not the one I reach for anymore. I prefer my Keysers to the Dunlop Trigger, and think the Keyser partials are very nifty, but still the not the ones I reach for anymore. Then I found the brass Dunlop with the screw mechanism. That was my favourite until I tried the Bird of Paradise. Beautiful AND functional. And now, the G7th. The best so far. The only possible downside, but it's to be seen, is that I wonder if the tension will loosen over time? Not curretly a problem, but I wonder...?
Anyway, for now, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

I was weary of purchasing this despite the excellent reviews before trying it. Paying almost 40 dollars for a capo, when I knew I could buy a dependable Dunlap for about $12 seemed absurd to me. But when I was in a guitar store and had the chance to use one, I knew exactly why it was $40. And it is well worth it.

The capo is sturdy, easy to use, and there's no ring or buzz on any string. There's really not any words to describe how happy I am with this product!

If you use a capo regularly, then this is well worth your money.
