Ironically I think this is more durable than the Garmin version that came with the unit I purchased. The original broke within two months of purchase and this one has taken its fair share of abuse by the family and still holding strong a year later!

I had to buy this because the one that came with the garmin broke. Honestly this is better than the one that came with it!! Only downfall is that the cord was about 6 to 8 inches shorter but even at that is was still long enough.

As Garmin has discontinued the model of GPS I own, there was no way I could get the vehicle power cable for a second car. The original cable is instaled through the dash board and therefore impossible to remove from my car. I need to use my GPS for a couple of weeks on a second card and could not find a suitable cable anywhere.
The product matched well the original cable, had a good tag price and worked flawlessly all the time.

This charger actually feels more sturdy then the one that came with the GPS. It works like the way it should.
I have no issues with this.

Warning - This plugs in the unit only through the GPS holder, no good on its own. GPS holders seem to cost $40 area, please share if u see anything cheaper

I bought this in August 2009. It is now October 2010 and I need to buy a new one. The wires at the end of the cable that gets plugged into the GPS holder have come loose so power no longer runs along the cable. I'm not sure why it should only have lasted a year since I only use the GPS about once per week on average and am not at all rough with it. Maybe it bent the wrong way and got pulled loose as I shut it into the glove box?
I don't know of an alternative so I'll just buy another one.

From the description I thought I needed it but the power charger was included with my Garmin Nuvi 760. I still have the power adapter, never used it so far since it is just easier to take the Nuvi with its power charger from one car to the other.
