I bought 4 of these for my van. They ALL broke within 4 months of installation. Save yourself the headache and buy the 524T from directed electronics. I also tried to get a replacement and Amazon doesn't even have the contact info for the manufacturer, what a waste of time and money.

Works great as a replacement!,

This worked great as a replacement actuator for my rear door on a Ford SUV. It 'feels' stronger than the original and needed no modification to mount. No kidding, even though it came with additional mounting hardware, this thing kinda slipped right in place in the original mount. All I had to do was set the length and it's worked great!

I bought this for actuating the manually operated lock in the driver's door of my 1997 Subaru Impreza (the other 3 doors are powered to follow the action of the driver's lock). The actuator was supplied with all the unique parts needed to do the job. I just needed to install a piece of aluminum (inexpensive purchase from local home improvement super store) to mount a pivot arm to. There was a convenient place in the existing door panel steel to mount the actuator itself. I used a very similar unit to replace my failed trunk lid actuator. It works better than the trunk actuator part it replaced and it cost a lot less! The image supplied by Amazon.com for this product doesn't show the other parts that were included: small diameter steel rod clamp to secure rod to existing lock mechanism. metal strap with holes, to use for mounting or transferring actuator force. mounting screws
