Product Description

Baseball Superstars 2011 is the most popular sports game series by Gamevil. Simple gameplay, bright visuals, and upbeat audio recall the old Super Nintendo days, while the RPG style progression of super players makes it hard to turn away. Not your ordinary baseball game, Baseball Superstars embraces unconventional characters--don't be surprised if your pitcher turns into a wizard or a convict in the sixth inning. A fun and entertaining take on America's national pastime; Baseball Superstars 2011 is bound to make you batty.

In Exhibition mode, select one team and compete against the other teams available--10 different national teams and stadiums are available to choose from.

Quick game info in a glance
My League

Create and customize a batter or pitcher in My League mode. Choose the player's team, name, right or left-handed orientation, and physical attributes. Play well and your player's stats will improve. Watch as he makes more money, gains popularity, and G Points. Play poorly and your character's popularity will plummet, and his coach might let him have it. A minimum of seven seasons are guaranteed. If your player does well, he could survive as long as 13 seasons. To ensure your player does well, a management menu appears every four matches and lets you buy items for your players. These help boost your players' morale and popularity, which ensures your players' longevity.

Become a manager of a team for 10 years in Season mode. Your team's performance and results will determine whether you're a good manager or not. Strengthen your team through training and events. Be sure to hit your team's goal set at the beginning of the season. Failure to achieve your team's goal will result in team penalties, and reflect poorly on your managerial skills. Teamwork also plays a crucial role in your team's success, and can be increased through purchasing items. However, game losses and player trades have a negative effect on your teamwork status.

Homerun Race and Mission

Receive 10 chances to use your custom batter to challenge a pitcher. How far you hit the ball out of the field determines how many G Points you earn. Hit a combo or hit the ball into the Event Zone to receive even more G Points. Be aware, super pitchers may appear to challenge you if your batter is hitting consecutive home runs. Super pitchers are designed to make it impossible to hit a home run. If you manage to hit one, you'll earn even more G Points for your efforts. There are 28 missions available for both batter and pitcher mode, and are unlocked only when you successfully accomplish a mission.

Not your ordinary baseball game
Match Play

Play matches with teams that other users have customized, or play other users by downloading their player's data. If you win the battle, you will be rewarded with G Points and R Points. Use the G points to buy various items your players need or unlock super players.

Graphically Enhanced Baseball Simulation

New visual angle at bat, leaping and diving catches along with laser throws from the fence to home plate, which adds to the excitement of spectacular plays.

Additional Customization

Customize game settings to select the specific scenarios or players that you wish to play. In addition, now you can customize the stadium and turf to earn more money for your ball club.

My League and Season Mode Additions

Perform events through the full interactive outings menu, hire super players as coaches to boost your team's ability, and achieve record breaking numbers to take part in the Superstars tournament.

Achievements Galore

Please read this review. Many people are giving this a negative review due to starting the game already at the 5th inning. If these people would read each prompt when starting the game, they would notice that they are playing a "scenario" game as opposed to a full 9 inning game. I played a game through 9 innings and I can say it is fun. It looks AMAZING on my Tmo Vibrant, and runs smoothly. There are alot of characters to unlock, so have fun!

i checked this out mostly because of all the "bad" reviews, just to see if it was really that bad. first off someone mentions how its $.99 on marketplace, yeah it looks like gamevil is doing some kind of deal right now but thats not the normal price for thier games. and also on my trip to the android marketplace i found many positive reviews, and you cant write a review there until you download the product and its 1 review per person. not to mention after playing the game i found it is actually fun. it takes some getting used to but once you do you find it is fun. first thing i suggest is to set the speed option down because the default is way too fast.

I wrote a previous review for Baseball Stars 2010 and it still stands. 2011 improves on graphics and tweaking animation of hitting and homeruns. This game expands on the overall game mechanics. Infield players are actually highlighted when they have the ball. Also the pitching interface changed somewhat, as you now have to press a button to throw runners out instead of tapping the base like in 2010. I guess they wanted to make the game a little more user friendly. Overall great improvements.

Baseball Superstars 2011 keeps an incredible amount of stats and created custom players are configurable. You can customize shoes, bats, gloves and helmets colors. Unlockable items are obtained by winning G-points from competing in homerun contest or within the season. The season simulates a real baseball season, including overachieving coach who's quick to tell you what you need to work on. There are also other silly competitions between players that result in either custom player stats gain or loss. The difference between stats dictates whether or not your player is on a hot streak or on a cold streak.

Stats are earned mainly by winning or purchasing items with G-points that can replenish your player stats, or permanently increase them, like buying a bat for example. Before each new season you can select your personal mission for the season, like hitting a certain number of homeruns or RBIs, etc. Achieving this will give you a bonus.

In addition to your customized player there are other special characters on steroids which have `special powers'. These special characters can use a limited number of special pitches (for pitchers) or swings (for batters) that tend to result in homeruns or strikes.

I LOVE this game! It's not the usual baseball game where you just either hit or pitch the ball (I would have deleted it otherwise). It is like having multiple games in one, as you can play in exhibition, my league, season, hr race, mission and other modes. Winning in each mode may require totally different gameplay. In my league, it's about building up a superhero player though his career. You can buy items, train him or go out in town for adventures between games and even find love, lol! Season mode allows you to learn to become a manager, to trade players and build a winner. And HR race is great for racking up points that you can use to purchase items to be used in other modes. So this game is as much about hitting the ball as it is about strategy in building up players and teams. After playing for more than 2 weeks I have yet to figure out all the possibilities, and probably won't for another few months. Highly recommended if you like RPG games. I am totally hooked and can barely let go of my phone!

This game is awesome. I played it for 4 hours right after downloading, and it was addicting. The "baseball game" part is fairly straight forward. I had it set up where I only played the offense, and let the computer pitch for me. A ballgame could be played out in a few minutes that way, and a whole season can be completed in an hour or so. Where this game really shines is in its progression. As you will find with many Japanese games (not sure if this is one) it has a really cool strategy aspect to it. In season mode (if anyone knows Baseball Stars for NES) you need to build your team by winning games, earning money and fame, both of which will allow you to improve your players by buying them equipment and so on. There is much more to it then that but if you are patient, and willing to figure out the nuances of the game, you will not be disappointed.

I don't like baseball but love this game. You can play for weeks unlike most apps which go stale in about 24 hours. It's not a game you download and jump right in to. You have to figure out what's going on first. The negative reviews mostly indicate they did not bother to do so. Hopefully they are able to find simpler games.

By default you don't play every at-bat. In some modes you play one guy in others you play when runners are in scoring position. You can change this but once you get in to it I don't think you'd want to.

There is a bit of RPG in the game. There are pitchers with crazy powers. You can get them yourself with g-points (which are best earned answering trivia at the ballpark between games). If you just want a staight baseball game you're out of luck. I don't care about baseball so this was great for me.
