Not quite Zelda and not quite Secret of Mana, but good enuff!
on March 29, 2011
At first I was skeptical about the game, the graphics looked great in the screenshots and the gameplay that was showed seemed to indicate a simple kind of top down scroller. Its much more than that once you get into it, there is alot of depth in the combinable/refinable items, loads of things to kill, plenty of quests, and of course PvP!!
As far as the story goes, having not played the first game, it seems to be fairly strong, its not Shakespeare by any means, but the story isn't the real draw of the game. I am reminded alot of Zelda and Secret of Mana when I play the game, which is great because they were both excellent games that I held very dear in my RPG heart. While not quite as in depth as those games (the graphics may be better than those 8-bit 16-bit gems) it does have PvP capability that does add a fun spin to the traditional grind gameplay.
4 of 5 for Graphics: Definitiely a kind of anime inspired graphics for the overviews and a sprite based character build that has a very eastern feel to it (many of the monsters resemble Pokemon, making it that much more fun to kill them!).
3 of 5 for Sound: The sound effects are pretty entertaining, the music can be a bit bland at times.
4 of 5 for Gameplay: With the PvP option there is really no limit to the amount of replay value, and of course there are 4 different characters with unique abilities to play through with.
