mt biking with the edge 305
have had it for a month or so and I use riding x country in santa cruz ca riding under a heavy tree cover. it has a good signial under the trees the software is so so. over all the edge is a lot if fun and a well made unit. a few times it shut off when cycling thru the menus the first few times but seems to have stoped Ilove it

very disappointing product
I've found this bike computer disappointing and frustrating to use since I bought it a year and a half ago, and I've finally tossed it - no need to try to fix it since it never operated satisfactorily out of the box, and I don't want to foist it on someone else on the 2nd hand market. If it only did what it says it does, I'd be happy - but at best it provides only...

I've found this bike computer disappointing and frustrating to use since I bought it a year and a half ago, and I've finally tossed it - no need to try to fix it since it never operated satisfactorily out of the box, and I don't want to foist it on someone else on the 2nd hand market. If it only did what it says it does, I'd be happy - but at best it provides only approximate data that jump around from one moment to the next, and at worst it just quits. It functions well only at constant speeds on level ground, but once you start climbing, the speed and angle of climb readouts constantly jump around and are almost useless. And the heart rate monitor is finicky - works most of the time but can also jump around to 3/2 or double your actual rate. Recently it has been turning itself off in the middle of a ride - quite exasperating since I time myself over regular routes. This is my 3rd Garmin GPS, and it will be my last.
