Customer Reviews

The wristband, extra wrist mount, and bike mount all work with the Edge 500 just fine.
Andrew Forsberg
All work great, the first couple of mounting were a little tight the twist and lock took a little extra carefully applied strength.
David M. Cox
The watch mount seems a bit cumbersome but functional if you don't want to buy a Foreunner.

The wrist mount does work with the Garmin Edge 500. However, the top of the Edge is near my wrist, which makes it a little hard to read (you'd expect the left side to be closest to the wrist).

The kit includes the quick release adapter, a mounting bracket (that secures with zip-ties to the handlebars) for your bike, a mounting bracket for the Velcro wristband and a mounting bracket on a standard (rubber) watch-band. They all mate to the adapter that simply clicks onto the back of the Forerunner/eTrex, just like the battery charger. It's a great system and I have only had good experiences with it

I bought this so that I could use the watch strap for my Garmin Edge 500 bike computer when I run. I didn't figure I needed to buy yet another computer. The Edge 500 snaps right into place and it works great. (Note if you are thinking about using your Garmin Edge 500 for running, you won't get pace data. You'll only get MPH, but with elementary math I'm sure you can handle it.) Great little kit.

I had concerns about the Garmin Forerunner 310XT watch band and was skeptical about the quick release kit. However, when I received it, the instructions were very clear, the ease of switching from the watch band to the bike kit was also a piece of cake. I highly recommend this kit for anyone who has a bike and runs. Superb product; too bad Garmin doesn't sell it with the original watch.

Pretty much what I expected, the 500 mounts 90 degrees off of what you would hope, but I knew that going in. I only wish the band was longer other than that exactly what I expected. Added bonus was additional mounting garb allows me to mount on a third bike

Like many others, I bought this only for using my Edge 500 while running. It really clicks into place. I have no doubt that it will work fine. It is a little bulky which could be a problem in the winter since a long sleeve, base layer would never fit over it. During the other seasons though, the size won't bother me a bit. As far as being sideways on my wrist...I could care less. 4 stars because it's hard to "love" a plastic wristband!
UPDATE - It's now June 16th. Use this 3 days a week. Works great!

This kit is such a convenience! I used to be an amateur runner that used Nike+ devices, but I started cycling heavy last year, and I purchased a Garmin Edge 500. When I started running again this year, I wanted to use it for supplementing my running data. For months, I just carried it– in my hand, sometimes in a pocket (if my shorts had one), sometimes in a jacket, etc.. etc... It was always a hassle, and I was always worried about losing.

THEN... I found this! I was hesitant at first. It doesn't state that it's technically compatible for the Garmin Edge 500, but reviewers said it did. Indeed, it does. Not only that, but it's wayyyy "sturdier" than I imagined. The device locks in very tight. I have yet to use all the other elements of the kit (and I'm not sure I'll need to), but it seems to have adapters and tools for connecting to a wide range of Garmin devices.

While the Garmin Edge 500 is a bike computer, I use my HRM bundle to measure my BPM while off the bike (read: 'running'). The wrist strap fits my Garmin with NO issues and allows me to record my heart rate while in training (on and off the bike.) I'd recommend it if you're looking to take your Garmin 500 with you when you're off the bike.
