The kit includes the quick release adapter, a mounting bracket (that secures with zip-ties to the handlebars) for your bike, a mounting bracket for the Velcro wristband and a mounting bracket on a standard (rubber) watch-band. They all mate to the adapter that simply clicks onto the back of the Forerunner/eTrex, just like the battery charger. It's a great system and I have only had good experiences with it

The wrist mount does work with the Garmin Edge 500. However, the top of the Edge is near my wrist, which makes it a little hard to read (you'd expect the left side to be closest to the wrist).

I had concerns about the Garmin Forerunner 310XT watch band and was skeptical about the quick release kit. However, when I received it, the instructions were very clear, the ease of switching from the watch band to the bike kit was also a piece of cake. I highly recommend this kit for anyone who has a bike and runs. Superb product; too bad Garmin doesn't sell it with the original watch.

I bought this so that I could use the watch strap for my Garmin Edge 500 bike computer when I run. I didn't figure I needed to buy yet another computer. The Edge 500 snaps right into place and it works great. (Note if you are thinking about using your Garmin Edge 500 for running, you won't get pace data. You'll only get MPH, but with elementary math I'm sure you can handle it.) Great little kit.

I bought this kit for the watchband. It allows me to put the Edge 500 cycle computer on my wrist when I am walking around, snowshoeing, etc. I may upgrade to a dedicated watch that is better suited to running, etc. For now, this works very well. I have some extra pieces I won't use, but it was worth it to me for the watchband.
EDIT: I forgot to mention that since this is not dedicated for the Edge 500, the computer will be rotated 90 degrees from what you expect. If you need to check the display a lot, it might bother you. If you are hoping to track your data and review it later, it might actually work better with the unit rotated so the GPS unit faces the sky.

Very well designed, the kit is set up in a minute and allows you to seamlessly click out from running to biking etc...The only downside I should mention is that that the base bracket (which is mounted on the Garmin) cracked after only a couple of months.
I didn't find any spare parts for sale so I'm buying a new kit.
