5.0 out of 5 stars Great Little Gizmo!
This can opener is fantastic! not only is it portable after charging, there is no need to leave it on the countertop. Just put it a drawer. I was amazed at how easy it was to use. I had been using a hand held manual opener.

I can't get mine to even pierce the can, takes 10 minutes of fiddling around to get it to pierce the can and then maybe it will open it half way. Save your money!

The only draw back I can see is once you start opening a can with the GIZMO, you can not stop it until can is completely open. For people with Arthritis and the elderly the Gizmo will simplify life for them.
Since purchasing one for myself, I have since purchased several as gifts.
GREAT LITTLE GIZMO!

4.0 out of 5 stars Gizmo can opener-almost as good as it seemed, August 9, 2006
Very handy. I found it easier not to mount. I just leave it on the counter next to the plug and plug it in when necessary. Only fault - the magnet is so strong that sometimes when removing the can the magnet draws the front part of the device into the can.

But still a good deal. However, I liked my Black and Decker cordless better.

I am very happy with my canopener. I have a space for it in my drawer of my 5th wheel. MY kid can use this opener without any problems. I have not had any shards of metal at all in my food. It stays charged for a couple of months before I have to recharge it.I use it almost daily. I have small hands and so this is the right size for me.

4.0 out of 5 stars This is a great product, but..., April 7, 2007

I agree with all of the other reviewers that this is a great product, but I'm downgrading it one star because the product description above twice refers to the "charging base." Earlier models of the Gizmo Can Opener did indeed have a charging base and the opener was on charge whenever it was inserted into the base. This is not true of the EM200 being offered here. This opener has a completely separate plug-in charger which cannot even be used when the opener is stored in the base. If you insist on a charging base, this is not the opener for you.

Our old Gizmo's battery gave up the ghost. We liked the can opener because it was compact under the cabinets and worked well. The only problem with the first version was that it was always plugged in a charging which shortened battery life.

The new version must be removed from the holder to charge overnight. This lets you fully discharge the battery before charging which extends battery life. Much better.

Oh, it does a very good job of opening cans.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great new idea, July 5, 2007
This can opener is wonderful. light weight, easy to use, stores away great. The only thing that I noticed was that you can not charge it while it is in the holding case.

Well worth the purchase.

This is a great product both for home or for a gift. It is especially great for people that have trouble with the joints in their hands. This product is worth the money and much more.

This is a very easy to use opener. We keep it in a drawer instead of mounting on cabinet. Takes up little room. Wife was using one hand to mix meat loaf and needed to open a can of tomato sauce, she was able to do it with the one hand that wasn't messy.

this can opener is garbage. it opened a couple of cans, then quit. if you pushed it along, i could get it to open maybe half way around. now i get nothing. no matter how long you recharge the thing, it does nothing more than make a grinding noise and stops. doesn't even start to open the can. don't waste your money.
