Who knows if it is working
No one can tell me of the product is working or not. There is no test. Last night it started going off for no reason every 5 minutes. It took me almost 2 hours to figure out it was this and not one of the 10 smoke detectors in my house. I finally had to disconnect it and now I cant arm the alarm in the house till my alarm company comes out today to replace this piece...

I have three of these in my house, and am very happy with them. All CO detectors have a limited life, but these tell you when their life is expired, like a smoke detector beeping when the battery is low.
Another reviewer complains about his beeping every five minutes, but the manual explains this is the signal that its useful life is expired (about five years). While waiting for a replacement, as I am doing now for one of my detectors, you can silence the alarm for about 36 hours at a time, by pressing the test button until it beeps.

This was a replacement for our prior carbon monoxide monitor with our scurity system. It was easy to install, but you may want to contact ADT to tell them you are doing it yourself as we set it off a couple of times.
We saved a lot by instaling it ourselves and our security system says it is working great. All carbon monoxide monitors fail after about 5 years.

I had to replace the CO Detector wired into my ADT System. This is an exact replacement. I was disappointed to find that all of these detectors "expire" in five years. So I hope it will be available when I need one five years from now. If not I'm sure I will pay a lot more for something that will work with my system.
