Very poor sound quality! I found this out after replaying our outgoing message. I figured it wouldn't sound as muffled when listening from another phone, but I was wrong. I called the houseline using my cell phone to test it out and when the outgoing message played, it sounded just as muffled and garbled. It sounded as though someone had their hand over the mouthpiece. The other issue with these phones is the short battery life. The phones will have a full charge at the beginning of a call yet any conversation lasting more than an hour will be disconnected after a series of beeps that indicate "low battery". After charging all three handsets overnight, I woke the next morning to find ALL THREE with "low battery" still on the LCD screens! After the money you'll spend on the extra batteries throughout the life of these phones, you're better off using that extra money to buy a better quality phone system!

I took sometime in researching the whole cordless digital system spectrum and thought I found THE ONE....the GE25942EE3 5.8GHz Three Cordless Handset Phone Systm w/Caller ID and Digital Answering System. It was easy to setup. I liked how the past 40 caller ids were saved. And we did not have interference at all, which is what I was mainly concerned with. However, from the beginning, I noticed people having to ask me to repeat myself. Then when I would call home, I found out that everything is very muffled and it sounds like the person is talking with a mouth full of food. It doesn't matter what kind of phone someone calls you from....land line or cell....you sound VERY MUFFLED to them on their end. It's horrible! At first, we were told it was the DSL filters we had on the phones that were making it that way. But then we removed them and it still was bad. Also, when talking to someone on the other line that is using a headset (customer services reps, etc)....forget it...you can't hear them, no matter what they do.

In conclusion, I do not recommend this GE system. Thought because I was paying more for it and not going the "cheap" route we would be good....so NOT true! I would have given it NO stars, but it doesn't let me.

I purchased this cordless telephone set to replace a GE model purchased years ago. The base unit, handset and answering machine from the old telephone are fine, but the extra handset went completely dead (even with a new battery). My husband thinks it may have been hit by lightening/ a power surge. Unfortunately, I really don't like the new set as well as the old. The handset is a little smaller and shaped so that I cannot hold it on my shoulder as I used to the other one. We have had some problem with the volume (of the caller) as well. Having an additional handset is nice, but I would gladly trade for a working set like our old one! I guess the saying, "They don't make them like they used to" would apply. :{

I love this phone except I can not use my headset with it. The previous version of the exact phone had the headset feature and I loved it. Also the sound quality is moderate. The volume does not increase as I hit the button to increase it.

I bought it and I was really unhappy with the product. It really unclear and not user friendly.
