Product Description

Amazon.com Product Description

General Electric's 27938GE2 cordless phone combines a forward-thinking design with a number of essential features, making it a perfect fit for cost-conscious users. Sporting a three-line LCD built into the handset, the phone supports the caller ID/call waiting services offered by most local phone companies, letting you filter out solicitors and other unwanted callers. It also stores up to 40 names and numbers, so it's quick and easy to call good friends and favorite restaurants. And thanks to its intuitive controls, you can review past calls by date and time and then return the calls with the push of a single button.

To ensure an extended range without jacking up the price, the phone operates on the 2.4 GHz band using tried-and-true analog technology. The phone also employs GE's Crystal Clear Sound with Campandor function and 40-channel auto scan to guarantee a quality reception with minimal static. Additional features include a flashing antenna that gives users a visual cue when the phone is ringing (ideal for noisy parties or when the kids are napping); a low-battery indicator; compatibility with both headsets and hearing aids; and a page/find function that helps you locate the handset when it's away from the base. The wall-mountable unit measures 3.7 by 8.7 by 11.7 inches (W x H x D) and is backed by a one-year warranty.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't Buy It!, November 4, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: GE 27938ge2 2.4 GHz Analog Cordless Phone with Caller ID (Black) (Office Product)
I bought this phone and set it up as instructed. But, immediately it wouldn't charge correctly. Even though the phone was sitting in the cradle the charge light was blinking off and on. It didn't matter what I did, nothing resolve the problem so I let it charge for 24 hours instead of the 12 hours GE requires. I then proceeded to test the phone and notice immediately that the Caller ID was very difficult to read. And then on several other calls the Caller ID didn't work at all. Also had to have the sound up to maximum and still was hard to listen to callers (I have no hearing problems). Maybe all of these problems were due to the inability to get a good charge but anyways I still couldn't recommend anyone buying this phone!
