Product Description

Amazon.com Review

Clear away some clutter on your desk or nightstand with the all-in-one clock radio phone from GE. You can wake up to music, news, or a forceful alarm. Place nighttime calls with the lighted handset, and let the attractive art deco design accent your bedroom.

Setting up the phone on this attractive and durable unit was easy--we didn't have to consult the manual for any of the features.

The AM antenna is built in, and the AC power cord also functions as the FM antenna. AM and FM stations sounded clear even in a basement room and were easy to tune in with the discreet tuning dial.

The green LCD display seems very bright in a darkened room but makes it easy to find the phone to answer nighttime calls. If you're prone to swat the Snooze button when your alarm sounds, you'll find the big oval Snooze easily reachable. Just be careful not to hit the Hour or Min buttons, as these will change the clock time.

Pros:

  • Attractive design
  • Lighted telephone keypad
  • Long handset cord

Cons:

  • Easy to accidentally set the clock
  • No brightness control on clock display

2.0 out of 5 stars I was very disappointed in this product, July 13, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: GE 29291 Bedroom Clock Radio Phone (Office Product)
The idea is a good one, but I found it flawed, especially in two ways. First, even during simple movements like hanging up the phone it is practically impossible to avoid hitting the the time-set buttons and accidently changing the time... not a good thing when you are counting on the clock to get up for work. Second, if you have the radio on and the phone rings, the radio is supposed to shut off when the receiver is lifted. This didn't work, and as I recall required some drastic measures to get the malfunctions reset (like unplugging the thing.) I hope that others can counter my experience with success, but I was not happy with the GE clock radio phone.

4.0 out of 5 stars Reduces nightstand clutter!, August 23, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: GE 29291 Bedroom Clock Radio Phone (Office Product)
I ordered this telephone in order to reduce the clutter of a telephone and clock radio on my nightstand. I am very happy with the telephone. The nightlight is fairly bright, but not overly so. The sound quality of the radio is very good, and it has better reception than my normal radio! The one negative is the cord that reaches from the phone to the phone jack was much too short (my phone jack is over 12 feet away from my nightstand). I solved the problem by buying an extension If your phone jack is near your nightstand, you shouldn't have any problem.

2.0 out of 5 stars Almost a winner, January 4, 2002

Good idea but bad implementation of what a bedroom clock should be.
The viewing angle of the LCD on the Bedroom Clock Radio Phone is very poor. Unless you look at the clock directly you can not tell what the time is. There is also an anoying green flashing light to indicate a new call is listed on the caller ID. If GE were to change out the LCD and remove the green light this would be a 5 star product.
