Customer Reviews

I bought this camera to replace the wired version of this very camera.
B
How many people have places outside where a rain storm wouldn't get it wet, if you have to have it within 10 feet of area being viewed at night.
J E
The camera is very easy to install and the picture is clear..no delays, no jumpin in or out or blurred vision.

I bought this product from a local retailer, but bought an additional camera later. I have used both cameras outside for three years. One is protected from the elements, the other is not. I can record because I hooked the monitor into an old tv with vcr. I have been extremely happy with this product because I had marauding teens, who thought it was great fun to throw eggs, trash, etc. and mess with cars. I put a small sticker in my window stating that the premises were under surveillance. At first the kids thought it was a joke, until I opened the door and caught them in the act. Their looks were priceless, they cussed and fussed, but they leave my property alone which was the intent of having the cameras in the first place. BTW, I don't live in a bad neighborhood, just some teens have too much unsupervised time on their hands.

We use it on a channel on our kitchen TV and we move the camera to whatever room the kids are playing in. It works great! Very reasonable price, too.

We bought this nearly a year ago to use as a baby monitor, and it has worked perfectly for that purpose. It has been powered 24/7 since the day we bought it with no issues. Reception is good - I have installed the receiver in the adjacent room as well as across the house on the lower level. Daylight resolution is decent; nighttime resolution is adequate for viewing specific targets. You will probably be disappointed in the wide-angle viewing capabilities at night - the light collection is center-heavy with dramatic visibility drop toward the edges. That isn't an issue for us since we are pointed directly at our baby's bed. Sound sensitivity is good. I have connected this receiver to my PC AV tuner and recorded video of our daughter playing in her crib. We would buy this product again.

this camera isn't very good for long distance night vision...but it is good enough for daylight, it also has sound, and I am not sure if you can disable it...so if you want to keep it in the same room as the tv, you would have to keep it down...but the range it pretty good, I was trying it through out the house...three walls if as much as I could get it to work well...at about 30 feet...but through one, it gets kinda fuzzy....but what can I say, that's wireless for you....if you don't have the money/time/or just don't want to run wires, this camera is pretty good choice...just need some kind of cord so you can have some range for the plug...

The GE 45234 Video system works really well. The frequency range is 902 - 928 MHZ so it does not have interference from the wireless routers which is 2.4 GHZ. I liked it so much I bought a second system. This one in a GE 45236 wireless color camera with a portable LCD Monitor. This system is on 902 - 928 MHZ. The receiver sits right by my
computer and receives clear pictures. The camera is 40 feet away watching my cars. My camera is inside looking through a window to the outside, it works well.

The biggest thing you should not have the receiver more than 75 ft or so from camera. I have mine 2 rooms over and picks up ok. The picture is great and the audio is even better. I have not mounted one outside yet but had it setting outside window shelf with screen up. It sounded like the outdoors came alive hooked up to my stereo. You cant have anything in front of lens even glass at night because of the infrared bounces off and blurrs pic. Its not water proof so it would have to go under a porch. I thought about an overhang but not sure. It gets realy hot but Ive read that the infrared ones do. The reception is getting worse outside so I'm going to buy a new sma cable they are smaller for the receiver and run the antenna. I put a regular coaxil cable in it and could tell the reception got better. They make sma antennas too. I expect the reception is going to increase dramatically. Hope this helps. GE should do this for better sales.

Product says can be used inside and outside. Deceiving on the outside use. Directions inside box gave full details.

One, it has to be put in a location where it can't get wet. You have to use the AC adaptor that comes with it. Instructions say don't use AC adaptor where it can get wet. Pretty well elminates most uses outside. How many people have places outside where a rain storm wouldn't get it wet, if you have to have it within 10 feet of area being viewed at night. How many people have an outlet close by to plug in the AC adaptor where it won't get wet.

Night vision is a joke. Mostly a blur. Tried using it aiming it out a window and that does not work at all. Turned it around to see how it would work in the house, and that was just as bad. Mostly a big blur. Could not see anything moving. I am returning the product today.
