GE 85394 15-Watt 900-Lumen T3 Spiral CFL Bulb, Daylight, 2-Pack. 15-watt Medium Base (E26) T3 Spiral, compact fluorescent lights sustain a life of up to 9 years. Lamp light illuminates your surroundings with light output of 900-lumens, great for Natural, Inviting environments. Daylight bulb with a color temperature rating of 6500K. The 15-watt Compact Fluorescent Light (CFL) acts as a replacement for 60-watt incandescent bulbs, saving on energy and costs. Daylight 15-watt CFL light provides 8000-hours of running life, which means replacing your bulbs less often. Light works with most 120-volt lighting fixtures and General Purpose lighting applications. CFL lighting is the perfect alternative to incandescents. Lumens are the new watts, use this number instead of watts to determine the light output or brightness that you prefer. A lumen is a unit of measurement for how much light is contained in an area. The higher the lumens number, the brighter the light. Manufacturer Code Description: FLE15HT3/2/D/2PK.

I just installed six of these 15-watt fluorescent bulbs in my kitchen ceiling. They produce a beautiful, bright white light, far superior to the GE 13-watt fluorescents' dimmer, yellowish light (SKU 085-02-0514). Of course, the dimmer bulbs (870 lumens) last 12,000 hours, compared to 8,000 for the Daylight 6500K. The dimmer bulbs are also smaller and use only 13 watts. But 8,000 hours is still a long time, 15 watts is still very little, and the light is terrific. My only complaint is about the plastic packaging. GE should find a more eco-friendly way to package its eco-friendly bulbs. It sells other bulbs in 5-packs that use no plastic packaging.

Super bright and natural light after warming up. Short 8 month life. How do I know the life? I wrote the install date on the plastic base because I started noticing GE CFL bulbs I purchased to save energy and money were not lasting very long. In fact, I found their life was less than that of incandescent bulbs.. Background: This model bulb FLE15HT3/2/D was installed in a ceiling nipple lamp opposite of another GE CFL bulb. The install date was 8-15-14. It was not exceptionally hot in operation. Another GE CFL 15-watt bulb (installed the same date) is still working fine. There is no evidence of cracked glass on this short lived bulb, so I will leave it up to the reader to consider what failed on this CFL. This lamp is in my bedroom and operates about 1 hour a day every night. It was/is not turned on and off multiple times; it was turned on, left on for ~1 hour, and turned off. This dissatisfaction prompted me to interrupt writing this review to check my home for other CFL bulbs. A second ceiling lamp fixture at my home foyer also contained burned out GE CFL model FLE13HT3/SW dated 8-15-14. This 13-watt GE CFL had some slight browning on the plastic base indicating excessive heat buildup. These GE CFL bulbs 13 watt & 15 watt were installed in a ceiling fixture designed to handle 2 60 watt incandescent bulbs so it was not an excessive buildup of heat on account of the fixture which lead to their premature life. Other factors which reduce CFL life were not a factor: I have steady power as I share a transformer with 1 other home. My power is steady and reliable (no brown outs or surges) as I am 1 mile from a step down transformer connected to high tension power lines. No vibrations, rattling, or vibrating of the bulb exist in my rancher style home.Read more ›

I ordered these bulbs because I have many dark places that require light and I must say these are the best bulbs I have ever bought. They provide excellent light and do not make anything around it hot. I will be buying these again

6500K bulbs are often referred to as "daylight" bulbs and for good reason. Using these as lighting for a home would be interesting. They are very, very bright. However, when used indoors they don't stimulate being outdoors. It makes the room feel very "sterile" almost like a hospital room. Personally, I prefer a warmer light. More of a cozy, coffeehouse feel.

However, this bulb fit my needs perfectly as a plant-growing/sustaining light for a 5 gallon aquarium. I used it along with a simple clamp on desk lamp fitted above a Fluval Spec 5 gallon aquarium filled with mostly low and medium light plants. Included were Crypt parva, anubias nana, micro sword, riccia, and crypt wendtii red. It exceeded my expectations and the plants grew out of control with no addition of nutrients (with the exception of two root tabs spaced evenly the day I planted the plants) for over a year. They were going strong when I got rid of the tank as well. Inhabitants of the tank included one female betta and cherry shrimp galore. If you're looking to light a small planted tank with relatively low-medium maintenance plants, I would recommend you try this route first. I spent $15 total for the bulb and clamp on lamp which is a fraction of what I would have spent if I had went with a aquarium made light.

I don't like regular soft white bulbs, Day light bulbs are always better as compare to the color of the light. Brightness is perfect

If you like real 6500K daylight these bulbs are great. If you do not like bluish white look somewhere else.

I was surprised to be able to use it with my Ottlite lamp; I was always give the impression that they had special bulbs or something. They cost lest; and are brighter in my opinion. My Ottlite bulb lasted for about 2 years which was great; hopefully this one will last at least the same amount of time.

I would definitely buy these again.

Amazon decided that the best way to ship these light bulbs was with two 20 lb bags of gravel. One of the bulbs was smashed but the other was okay. This is very bright and will surely brighten whichever room you put it in. It doesnt burn hotter than any other bulb that I own so it doesnt let off much heat. Good buy.
