4.0 out of 5 stars Good performance for the money
I ran across these headphones at Home Depot. These headsets seem identical to the Jasco 95500. They are pretty large and bulky, but come with a leather carrying bag. The bag is a tight fit, and the drawstring soon came off, but putting it back on shouldn't be a big deal. It also come with a two prong adapter that will let you hook into the airplane's sound system...

1.0 out of 5 stars Ok sound but cheaply made
These headphones are sold under several names. The sound is ok (you get what you pay for) but the hinge at the top is very cheap plastic. One day you will go to put them on and snap. The hinge will break and then they are worthless.

I ran across these headphones at Home Depot. These headsets seem identical to the Jasco 95500. They are pretty large and bulky, but come with a leather carrying bag. The bag is a tight fit, and the drawstring soon came off, but putting it back on shouldn't be a big deal. It also come with a two prong adapter that will let you hook into the airplane's sound system without having to buy a pair of those awful earphones they hand out. The power switch is on a small box on the cable, and has a volume knob, a mute switch for whatever sound source you have it hooked up to, built in belt clip, and it uses a single AAA battery.

Airline noise seems to have a high frequency hiss and a low frequency rumble. These take care of the low rumble, which seems to be the most irritating on long trips. Sound quality is good, but not spectacular like I might expect with Bose or other brand. I feel like I made a good choice for the money (less than $50).

3.0 out of 5 stars They're OK for the price - keeping in mind that the price is very low, April 28, 2010

I wasn't really looking for noise-canceling headphones when I bought these - and it's a good thing I wasn't.

I chose them because they were the only headphones at the store with full-size earpieces, and for the price the sound quality and comfort are pretty good - far better than earbuds or flimsy "walkman" headphones.

As far as "noise canceling"...as soon as I turn them on, there is a constant annoying buzz in the left channel (even if they're not connected to or anywhere near another electronic device).

If you're listening to rock music at a medium volume or more, it's not really noticable, but listening to spoken-word or subtler, quieter types of music it's a problem. I just leave the NC switch in the off position and use them as regular headphones.

It's possible that the noise-canceling feature might work well in a noisy environment, but I wouldn't expect much; pro-sumer level noise-canceling headphones seem to cost about 600+ percent what these do...
