Good Phone,
This review is from: GE Corded Telephone with Speakerphone and LCD Display (Office Product)
There are very few wired two line telephones left on the market.
We like this one for the following reasons: -Large, easty to see buttons. -Easy to read display with brightness adjustment. -Volume and ring tone for each line programed separately. -Ringer can be turned off completely for either or both lines. -Eight "one button" memory slots; eight "two button" memory slots. -Incoming call beep tone can be turned off. -Other features include speaker, conference, redial and mute. -Headset capable. There is no battery backup so, if power is lost: the clock needs to be reset (easy) the directory seems to remain; line 1 still works. Keep the manual. Some of the programming is not intuitive. Major weakness: the lowest ringer volume setting is still quite loud. Product recommended.

Pros: Good tone quality; large, easy to read display, CID works well, buttons large, easy to use and reasonable footprint and price.
Cons: Only one: Don't laugh - this phone is hard to hang up! Really! The reciever slips in and out of the very small cradle. And, no, so far (6 weeks) I haven't gotten used to it.

GOOD
1) Handset sounds pretty decent although it's fairly loud even at the lowest volume setting. 2) Speakerphone sounds OK BAD 1) Beeps loudly everytime you push a button. 2) Caller ID only shows phone number and not the name of the caller. 3) My headset sounds like crap plugged into this phone. I think that I would look a little harder before purchasing this for a home office.

I was very pleased with the simplicity in actually using the phone. i bought it for older friends who are intimidated by electronics (still had rotary phone) and it was so simple they lost their fear and used it that night. i didnt get into to many other features. it does not require batteries, it plugs in to show LCD screen. very happy with purchase

Decent 2-line phone,

This phone is pretty much what I expected. The speaker phone audio quality is passable but not exceptional, and it has all the basic features/controls needed. One thing that surprised me is that it required a 120VAC supply for a wall transformer or it would not work. The instruction manual is also awkward, saying that if your modular jack was not wired for 2 phone lines in a single jack, an adapter is required so that only a single wire goes into the phone. I'm not sure this is true because I hooked it up with a separate wire for each line and it seemed to work just fine.

This phone doesn't have Caller ID display at all; there is a misleading user review in that respect: "Caller ID only shows phone number and not the name of the caller."; it actually is not Caller ID compatible, the display is for the outgoing (dialed) number and maybe for speed-dial programming. Anyways I just returned two of these telephones (one unopened) because of no Caller ID, otherwise it seemed like a good speakerphone for the money.

Wish I had read the description more carefully. This was puchased for my husband who has a hearing disability and needs a speakerphone. This telephone does not have a way of recording messages or leaving a voice message on the phone.
