A Good Solid Performer
This is my 3rd set of GE cordless phones. I think the lifetime expectancy of this product is 2 years, more or less. One base unit made it to 11 months and died. I had the phone set in a condo in Mexico, and by the time I got the set back to the US, GE refused to repair the unit, because I was about 2 weeks beyond the 1 year warranty. GE would not even repair the unit...

Don't Waste Your Money
Don't waste your money. The battery life is next to nothing, we had to replace them almost immediately. There are much better choices in phones. My mistake to buy this one.

This is my 3rd set of GE cordless phones. I think the lifetime expectancy of this product is 2 years, more or less. One base unit made it to 11 months and died. I had the phone set in a condo in Mexico, and by the time I got the set back to the US, GE refused to repair the unit, because I was about 2 weeks beyond the 1 year warranty. GE would not even repair the unit at my cost. So, that is a caviat, but I think it applies to many of today's cordless phones. While the phones work, they work well and have a good range. Pay attention to the fact that the maximum number of add-on phones is 4--and that includes the 1 on the base unit. I tried to add a 4th phone, which GE counts as #5, and it will not "register" with the base unit. So, I have a $45 phone that is useless. Still, I rate this system as 5 stars, because the sound quality is excellent.
