To comment on A.J.Bracuti's complaints:
1. This phone operates like a cell phone. You don't have to scroll through the whole "phone book" contact list; just key the first letter of the contact name and it jumps to that alphabetical position, then you may have to scroll from there. But you can minimize that by prefix letters; eg all my take-out restaurants have RST<space> as the first four letters. I like it better than the 9-entry scheme. With appropriate letter prefixes you could emulate a 9-entry list.
2. I too was disappointed that there apparently isn't even a non-standard wall plate with the required mounting-lug spacing available, and in the installation instructions there is no specific mating wall plate identified. (The ATT wall phone this replaces did have two optional spacings: one the standard and the other the same as this GE phone.) There is a simple solution though: Use the upper lug as-is and, instead of using the lower lug, replace the lower screw holding the plate to the box frame with a slightly longer screw with a slightly larger pan head; it's at just the right spacing; if you let it stand out ~1/4", you can clip the phone on and it's snug & securely mounted.

As others have commented, it is plastic & not stainless steel (which would have been really cool). The range, clarity & telephone functions are all fine. The only thing I would change is the handset loudness; I can just barely adjust it as loud as I need it. Given that there are so few true wall-mount phones available, I would buy it again. (Most so-called wall phones, like Panasonic, have adapters that are really just shelves that stick out too far.)

1. Most phones have the ability to dial at least nine numbers by pressing a "memory button" and hitting an assigned number. This phone does not. You have to scroll through their "Phone Book" and select your number.

2. If you are mounting it on a wall, the phone does not mate with a standard wall mounting plate. I had to modify the back of the phone in order to mount it to a wall.

Good looking phone, with the stainless steel look, green numeric display and red message counter. Mounts flush against the wall, dosen't "stick out" like many other wall mount phones. Good basic phone and digital answering machine with just enough features without being too complicated. It may cost a bit more, but like I said, it looks good on the wall.

I bought this phone based on detailed specifications and stainless steel finish. Although it does have some very nice features, I am disappointed with the lack of a memory NUMBER recall. The 50 name phonebook is nice, but you must SCROLL through the phonebook to find a name to call rather than just just keying in a 2 digit number and hitting "dial or call". On my old Uniden phone, my daughter was the 7th entry in the phonebook and all I had to do was hit memory 07 talk. Now I have to scroll to find her name which takes more time and effort. This, in my opinion, is poor design. I also think this phone is overpriced based on competitive products. And lastly, the owners "manual" is a huge 3 foot by 4 foot single piece of paper that is very cumbersome to use. They could have at least provided a decent manual.

I have purchased several wall phones only to replace them for many different reasons. This phone combines many great features, ease of use and styling into one great package. My only complaint would be the owners manual which you need the space of a "football field" to open it up and read. It is a shame that GE decided to implement their manual in this fold out fashion instead of an actual manual.

That being said, the phone itself is worth every penny - and that is one of the best features of all! This phone will not break the bank.

This phone is silver colored plastic, not stainless steel. The ad copy is deliberately misleading on this point, and adding the term "finish" does not correct the misimpression. Don't be fooled!GE - DECT 6.0 - Stainless Steel Finish

Phone works fine, no interference. Looks nice despite the fact it's plastic. Lightweight. Small handset. Mounting issues presented small problem. Products like this should allow for standard mounting. Flashing light for messages....no audible message alert....may cause some delay in noticing messages waiting. Only one ringer sound. Sort of like a sound effect on the Jetsons. You get used to it tho. Better than a lot of downloaded cell phone ringtones I've heard around town.

The last few cordless phones we had wouldn't have any reception even in our back yard. this phone is great and I can work in the yard or garden and still be able to answer the phone!

I purchased this phone from a competitor, and it is impossible to find the expandable handsets. Supposedly the system is expandable to 4, but you can't expand if you can't find.

Very nice design but functionally a piece of garbage. Everything interferes with it and the mute feature has a mind of its own turning on and off by itself. Every person I called or called me asked "what is with your phone" !!!
