Maybe my camera is defective, don't know.

First it takes about 3 seconds to get the (already ready) flash set to go, then it takes another 3 to focus.

There are no adjustments for ISO and the results for indoor is poor.

Easy set-up when opened... using printed owners manual.. More detailed owners manual on cd disc. Good auto features for taking pictures but easy to override for specific shooting speeds and lighting situations. LCD screen bright and automatic to light conditions. Only things the focus could be a little sharper when taking pictures with the auto feature. Pictures are sharper when setting camera to shoot at a higher, single ASA speed. 3x optical zoom is good and has easy controls on back of camera... good photo editing of pictures right on camera and body of camera is solid and feels good to hold and take pictures. Good, little GE digital camera.

The camera is great for what it is. It takes great photos once you transferre them to te computer. It's rugged so you can just throw it in your bag and go and all for under 50 bucks.

The camera isn't awful.

I initially had issues with fresh batteries dying in the camera so I contacted the manufacturer and asked why this was occurring turns out the camera is a high drain device and requires 2500 mah AA's. I didn't know there was a difference between AA's I thought AA's were AA's and that was that but it turns out there is a difference between em.

The camera itself is relatively small fits easily in your pocket the video quality isn't GREAT but it beats a cellphone and it does pick up audio which is a plus, image wise it's better than a cellphone but if you're using it at night you'll need to setup flash or it'll be dark and grainy. it has a smart focus feature which is great but if you turn it off you'll have to keep the camera still while taking images or you'll have motion blur. I'm personally satisfied with the camera it does what I need it to do and it takes pretty nice quality images considering it's a cheap camera.

As I write about and teach students how to buy/use digital cameras, I get to see patterns.

One is what I call the "Magic Fairy Dust" principal where certain buyers expect unbelievable performance from cameras that cost less than dinner and a movie for two. This camera currently costs less than a good pizza, soft drink and movie for two.

There is no Magic Fairy Dust camera that makes "booootiful pitchers" at all times. Not yet.

This camera does well outdoors and falls short for those wanting indoor shots with no flash an especially action shots in the school gym. Spend more money and get the right tool for the job! Don't know how? Read a book about cameras so you are not fed a bunch of hogwash.

This is a good basic camera with auto and adjustable ISO, several color options, face recognition, "scenes" and more.

Use high-quality alkalines, lithiums or NiMh AA cells that can be charged. Don't expect indoor shots with a f/6.4 tele lens and no flash. If you MUST, place the camera on a firm surface and expect a slow shutter speed. If you don't know about f-stops and ISOs, etc., read that book and find out.

In the hands of a careful user who knows the limitations of this fairly basic camera, you'll do OK.

I purchased this camera for a friend who has never owned a camera. The price at Frys was only $35. There is a reason for the low price, GE has another model out that is 14mp. Regardless of the Megapixel, this camera is basically a toy. There are no adjustments for ISO and the results for indoor is poor. Outdoor pictures are just okay, and the movie mode works, but not sharp. I cannot recommend this camera to anyone.

The camera seemed to be fair quality for a month. In month 2 (after the window for returns expired) the door to the battery compartment would not stay closed. Can't really use it with this defect. Disappointed and I wouldn't recommend.

Good little 'point and shoot' camera at a price that eliminates the worry of lose or drops. I like the AA battery use, which eliminates the need of recharging . . . which can not be depended upon; nothing more irritating than a out-of-charge camera when you have an urgent, immediate need for a photo!
