5.0 out of 5 stars Littel price but satisfied overall
I currently own a Canon 450D DSLR and thought I wouldn't need a point and shoot. That is until my wife didn't want to carry the big DSLR. However, I do kind of miss my last point and shoot camera, but it had a few similarities like the display size and my new GE camera has some upgrades that makes it a little easier on the switch. This camera is great because it's all...

3.0 out of 5 stars Once again, avoid this model due to GE spec errors
My entirely truthful review has been taken down, so let's try again.

I returned this camera without having shot a single image or video due to GE getting the specs wrong on their website and dropping the ball on the geotagging feature.

Originally, GE listed that it would shoot 720p 30fps (NTSC), but it is actually limited to 25fps. I have been...

3.0 out of 5 stars Once again, avoid this model due to GE spec errors, October 16, 2008

I have been informed that the site has corrected this now.

GE lists a GPS option on their site for this model. There should be a Rakon GPS radio chip inside that uses Geotate software. It may have the chip, but no info is in the manual - nothing! I emailed Geotate and have received no response.

The camera is larger than the listed dimensions.

This camera is great because it's all display screen and mostly no buttons which I like. If you don't want to mess with settings it's as simple as point, shoot and be amazed. I'm really impressed with the build quality of the E1050 TW especially with a metal casing which helps if it's accidentally dropped. I knew that's built by Stainless Steel which I can NOT find in the market. It's a 10MP beauty! I spent $223 on this camera and I think it was worth it. Well done GE!

5.0 out of 5 stars Cool Camera!!, December 7, 2008
By
This camera was purchased as a Christmas gift and the touch screen features make this camera very easy to use for the person who doesn't want to learn where a bunch of different buttons are. The pictures are very good quality. This really isn't designed for the expert. SLR type cameras would fit that better. It is compact, fast, and easy. It easily fits in a purse and is readily available to quickly capture those moments where you say "I wish I had a camera".

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Choice!, February 5, 2009

This review is from: GE E1050TW-SL 10MP Digital Camera with 5X Optical Zoom and 3.0-Inch Touch Screen LCD with Auto Brightness (Silver) (Electronics)
It took me a week in comparing and searching digital cameras. I was searching for the best camera below 150$, my final choice was between the GE E1050TW 140$ from amazon and Pentax optio a40 130$, the only advantage of the optio is the 12 mp, the advantages of the GE you can't find in more expensive cameras like the touch screen the panorama picture which is a great option and very useful also the x5 zooming and the HD video. Shooting HD video is limited to 30 minutes per shot whatever the size of the sd card but i think it is fair enough for a continuous shooting and you can get another 30 minutes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love it!, May 21, 2009
This camera is super easy to use and I love the touch screen! I let the battery charge for four hours before using and now the battery lasts a while. My old camera would die in an hour or less , I used this camera for five hours yesterday and it was still two- thirds charged when I was done! It's a great camera for the money. The pictures are beautiful!

4.0 out of 5 stars I love this camera, December 30, 2009

I use this camera for taking pictures and videos. I find this camera really perfect, especially the picture quality (crisps and clear). The videos are clear too! but make sure you should buy a higher memory card, so you could take a long video. I also noticed the battery lasts for 4-5 hours which is cool. Another feature I like(voice recorder) you can record your voice on the pictures sweet!! I love the touchscreen seems like It's fun to touch. A lot of features that you would love about this camera. I would recommend it for everybody whose looking for a picture quality, longlasting battery, touchscreen kind of camera.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great camera for the price, September 11, 2009
Love the big screen on the back. The small size is very convenient to take anywhere. Takes great pictures, very clear and lots of detail. Lots of additional features we are still discovering! All in all a great camera!

Really like this camera---the touch screen makes more sense to me from an operational standpoint and it takes great pictures. The seller was immediately responsive and I received the camera before I expected it to arrive.

The camera is great and you will get your money's worth. The only exception is that the battery rapidly dies if you use it to record video. If you keep using the video option you are probably going to use it for less than four hours. If you are mostly going to use it for still pictures then this camera will be great for you.

This is a great camers! It was very easy to use - actually an intuituve series of menus. Very east to find what is needed and also easy to change settings. It takes great photos and video as well. The touch screen is really cool and allows more real estate for viewing your photos.
It is small and light weight and is great for taking on hikes. I took it on my recent cruise and came back with wonderful photos. I recommend this camera to any one.
