I ordered this camera on the premise that it was made by The General Electric Co. because it has the GE logo on the camera. It had the features I wanted and it was the right price, but I was slightly disapointed that it was made be General Imaging Co. in China, and not by GE, a name I have grown to respect over the years.

It is not bad for a tag along camera. Good price, good size and it has nice features. Does not hold up to the bigger cameras for clear photos and non-blurry shots. One has to hold the camera very steady to get non- blurry pictures and that is hard to do with this camera. All in all, for the price, it is an OK, second, tag along camera good for those surprise shots you might miss when you leave your bigger camera at home. I think the only thing I really would like to see improved is the LCD screen. It has a nice 3" screen but, since the camera does not have a viewfinder, it is extreemly difficult, because of glare, to see your subject in the LCD screen in the sunlight. And, of course, the playback in the LCD screen is also very poor in the sunlight.

BL, I enjoy the camera, and it does the job I expected it to do.

Wow, This Camera will blow away even the Popular Canon ELF models. It has a 3 inch screen. It has all the red eye reductions and face capture technolgy that those other $175 to $200 cameras have but its better. It even has more Optical Zoom - 5 X, instead of 3 X...

If you shop around for features you will see that this is the best value for your money. I am surprised that nobody else noticed it. GE really does bring good things to life, don't let the name fool you. They do make some very good quality cameras too, not just home appliances.

I picked up this camera as an upgrade to my current 5mp camera and I was not disappointed in the features. I shot some long shots of my grandson and they turned out great. The only complaint is that it is a bit slow on the boot up, but the rechargeable battery is good for a long time, so it is not a real problem.

This camera has alot of memory and zoom. The zoom is basically useless, as you can barely see the subjects of any pictures taken with it. This camera is mostly good for outdoor daytime pictures (forget about taking pictures at a night football game under the lights). The pictures taken inside are sometimes OK, but alot of them turn out grainy. All this certainly explains why this camera was so inexpensive. I should have listened to a previous reviewer that GE should stick with appliances.

For the price, this is a great little camera. High resolution pics, movie clips, zoom, memory slot, big lcd screen, and too much more to mention. For casual photo needs and ease of use. It can't be beat.

This thing is great, I mean 8 MP and 5 X zoom for the price and it has a rechargeable battery with a big LCD screen I think you get your moneys worth on this one. Pictures are great would definitely recommend this.

This General Electric from the "shade in the corner" and most as unknow source are build for the first time and beat most the expensive other vendors on Digital Camera Market for sure..

This Camera are dream come true for easy operation and is loaded with options the other most expesive Camera at price more then a triple have on sale.

The GE850 is not just a Digital Camera..is as well build-in as Movie Camera for you own home enjoyments and more with two speed in replays..

You can create own Movie with unlimited time as long as the Memory you able to upgrade at any time for a few bucks.

I have one 8GB Memory Card, five 4GB Memory Card and with this big arsenal of RAM's I will never runs-out for Hours in the Movie Mode and hundreds of Picture for storage on Card or print at any time..

More the Cameras recognize and accept the 8GB Memory Card as well which is a surprice discovery I make byself.

This is my seconde same model Digital Camera I brought since the warranty expire and want stay with cover and gave my children now to works.

The 8 Mega Pixel build-in + up to 4GB Memory Card as options.. giving you unlimited options and high quality as printed picture you will enjoy for life.

The other very handy way to stay always ready every time to shoot is the Battery Pack you will never have to worry about.

One full charge gave you almost unbelieve amount to crack very good picture any time is call for..

I own before for more than a 25 years Kodak Camera several models but always worry about the power and battery replacements and spend a lot for the Battery to run Kodak Cameras I own.

This Digital Camera once brought is ready to go right from the box.

If you looking for easy operate.. trouble free and huge options build-in at the price others selling for more then triple then I sugest go for this
General Electric in particule this Model GE850 which is the Classy High Quality digital Camera you can have at such bargain price.

General Electric as proven are known as the Electic Product and other Utility Factory and never involved with Cameras Production.

After several years in Testing and improvement.. General Electric Jump-up with the High Quality Product at the price nobody will believe in the Digital Cameras..

The price + the options often create suspicious and a lot of people think about some hidden surprice..

This put the GE in the Leader Buffer still not know well on the Market.

I'm sure once you own this model you will enjoy as much as I have for years without any bad surprice or feels sorry.

Did not like the product.
Heavy, large and slow.
For pressing the shutter button it takes strength.
If I had seen personally before the purchase would not have bought despite the good price.

Don't run away just yet!
You CAN do a lot with this camera, using features that many cameras in this price range just don't give you!
Big as a fridge, and sexy as a toaster, it's hiding a few surprises.
The auto focus on the E850 is more dependable than that on any of the over 2 dozen different digital cameras I have owned and shot with.
What a pleasure to have the camera in your hands focus accurately, time after time!
A great many art photos can be made without the need for absolute perfection, and though this camera does produce pictures with more "noise" than is usual, this fact is only of technical interest, except where precise detail must be rendered. If we allow ourselves to admit it, we see that this is often not an essential consideration, in a photo where the main qualities we wish to attend to are those of balance, form, densities, intensities, shading, color, and composition.
This is a very satisfying camera, that allows for variety and ease of expression, whether you want to have fun, or to be serious.
Switch it to Black and White shooting, and click away! It is easy to see and frame your composition on the large (large) LCD screen, even in bright light situations.
This camera will do time-lapse photography, and also can take shots with long shutter speeds, with times ranging from 2 to 30 seconds! These are features that are still too rare in this price range, but this one's got 'em. and they work well!
The shutter is very responsive, so even though the processor can be a bit slow digesting a frame, at least the shot is caught!
I at first was ready to write this one off prior to any real investigation, but am now glad that I looked a little closer, and discovered a very useful tool for creativity and fun!
