From the Manufacturer

GE 14928 50-Watt Edison Halogen Spotlight PAR20 Light Bulb. Halogen lamps provide a small, white light source with excellent color rendering. Unlike standard incandescent lamps, halogen lamps use a halogen gas which allows the bulbs to burn longer without sacrificing light output. Compared to incandescent lamps, halogen lamps provide crisp white light, excellent beam control, compact size, high lumen maintenance and a longer life.

Product Description

GE Reveal bulbs fill your rooms with clean, beautiful light. GE Reveal technology filters out dull, yellow rays, bringing out colors and patterns that go unnoticed under regular incandescent light. These bulbs' funnel shape and reflective coating help direct light where it is needed better than a standard incandescent bulb. Use GE Reveal indoor floodlights in indoor recessed track and recessed fixtures to create broad beams of light and make colors and patterns pop. GE Reveal color-enhanced full-spectrum bulbs create enhanced, vivid surroundings in rooms and spaces throughout your home.

Colors in the room under this light are true and vibrant.

It's most pleasing in desk lamps or overhead canister fixtures and equally nice in floor lamps around the home.

The first one lasted about 2 weeks, rather than the year+ life of my previous bulbs.

We have been using reveal 65 indoor flood lights in our office with recessed fixtures. Although the bulbs give off wonderful light under which to work, they frequently shut off from overheating. After cooling, they can be turned back on. So if you plan to use these in recessed fixtures, make sure there is a space around the bulb to prevent this problem.

This is bright light, close to full spectrum, devoid of the yellow tint from most incandescent bulbs. It's most pleasing in desk lamps or overhead canister fixtures and equally nice in floor lamps around the home.
Just a side note, this type light is proven to help with the "winter blues".

Having used this exact same bulb model for several years, I ordered 4 of these very expensive bulbs. The first one lasted about 2 weeks, rather than the year+ life of my previous bulbs. Thinking I got one bad bulb in the batch, I replaced it with a second bulb, which also lasted 2 weeks. When I tried to get replacements or a refund from Amazon, I was told it was "too late" to return the bulbs--only 5 weeks after I placed the order!

You can keep CFL and LED the light is awful, these are the best., maybe some day LEDS will suffice but for now the light is way too harsh.

I have a houseful of Reveal lightbulbs because the color is so much nicer. For example, wood cabinets can look kind of yellow with standard bulbs, but Reveal gives the wood a much richer and more natural look. That said, in my lengthy experience with these bulbs, they don't last as long and they are about 2x as expensive. The atmosphere in the house is so much nicer that it's worth to me. But admittedly it's annoying when they burn out so fast. This mainly applies to the floodlights.

I thought that it may be prudent to order these bulbs and have them delivered free of charge rather than have to drive out to Home Depot or Lowes. These bulbs do what they are supposed to do, the price is right and I saved on gas. Yeah!

I wanted these for the shower room. I installed both and they worked and looked nice and bright. I took a shower that night. The next morning one of the bulbs was broken and wouldn't illuminate. I removed it and replaced with the 4 year old Phillips soft white floods and so $7.50 to use it one day was a complete waste of money. These are expensive so beware of the cost and that in my experience, one blew within 24 hours with maybe a maximum of 60 minute use.
I also purchased a 4 pack of 60w reveal bulbs and one of those didn't work at all.
All things considered, a waste of money for me and I would not purchase a "Reveal" bulb again.

This is the perfect bulb to illuminate the pool table from above, not too bright but bright enough to play. The reveal light makes for a more pure color display as opposed to a standard light. Good buy
