  • This is the GE Interlogix DesignLine Garage Door Sensor. The Garage Door Sensor enables you to monitor the opening of your garage door.
  • Once the garage door opens to a35 degree angle, the sensor will go into an alarm condition turning on the siren and calling the central monitoring station.
  • Under normal use, the sensor transmits open (trip) and close (restore). To the panel each time the garage door is opened or closed.
  • The sensor also sends a supervisory signal to the panel every 64 minutes and is equipped with a cover tamper for added security.
  • The sensor is designed to be mounted on the top panel of the garage door. A built-in one-second delay feature helps reduce false alarms if the garage door shakes in windy conditions.

I figured all the reviews had to be wrong. How could a company put out a product that is so bad? Well the reviews were correct. All I wanted was a sensor to inform me if the garage was left open. This sensor did that for three days. Then one night we opened the door and shut it. A little later we get the email that the garage was left open. After checking the garage was closed but the alarm was still reading it as open. I removed the cover for the sesor and reinstalled it. This "fix" worked for a day then again after opening and closing the door the sensor got stuck in the open position. I am in Phoenix in October, the weather could not be any better, so I can not believe temperature played a part in these failures. This part will be going back. It is too bad the such a simple sensor has so many issues.

Unreliable. The idea of a tilt sensor for a garage door is great, but this one just didn't work reliably. It reached a point where it would think the garage door was open all of the time. Tried fresh batteries twice, no change. I've read a lot of reviews where other people have had similar problems, especially in particularly hot or cold weather.

A ton of false alerts and fails to work at times. Have a lot of problems with the garage door sensor especially when the temperature in the garage gets above 100F. If your garage is not conditioned space (applies to most people) or you live in areas with hot weather this product will bring you headaches.

This sensor is unreliable and sometimes shows the garage door open when it is closed. I always park my car in the garage and leave the house through garage door. I already received one false alarm. I will return this item.
