My 4 year old recieved his first piece of Geo Trax last year for his birthday and he LOVES it! Now that we built a toy room in the basement we set it up again on his foam floor, we got him the fire truck addition and he was SO excited, every day we leave for daycare he has to say good bye to his fire truck! He has dropped it a few times, the puppy has chewed on it and carried it away and it still works as great as the first day we got it!

I bought the whole set of Geo trax for my sons 3rd Birthday, and he hasn't stopped playing with it since. He gets this out every single day and plays with it. Very durable toys. I highly recommend this toy. A must have. My son loves to put the tracks together, and it is easy for him. My 2 year old daughter even loves to play with it. Now they have out the mile high sets, and my husband said we had to get him that too. This is a definate toy to buy......... It Lets the kids use their own imagination time and time again.

I'm a parent of a 4 yr old and a 2 yr old, and I was inspired to write this because of a few negative reviews I read here. Any product can have a few bad apples, which is why we have Customer Service departments, but I have NEVER experienced a malfunctioning or poorly constructed Geotrax element in over 2 yrs of buying the stuff. My son is in a club which regularly exchanges Geotrax elements and all the other parents rave about Geotrax as well. The stuff takes a beating with kids this age, and the hard plastic of the Geotrax has stood up to the test with flying colors. You can get both electric trains and non-electric trains/vehicles for Geotrax. You definitely should get rechargeable batteries (AAA) for the electric trains, since like any other small toy with an electric motor, the trains do run out of power. But I'm amazed at how long they last on one charge.

The red fire rescue electric train is extremely popular and somewhat rare, which is why Amazon is always sold out. You have to watch all the time, but you can find it. Most of the Geotrax elements are very popular and hard to find, so you have to do a little homework. Amazon has been the best place to find them, however, and we've purchased at least half a dozen pieces from them.

Overall, the people who complain about Geotrax either have a rare lemon, or they have never used the product. This is an exceptionally well-designed, well-manufactured product that any child will LOVE. And you will love it because it will last for years.

My three-year-old son loves this toy. However, the sound effects have been malfunctioning periodically ever since I purchased it. Numerous battery changes and position changes make no difference. It is quite finicky. We have many pieces to this set and this is the only one with that problem. I think it is just a lemon. Even without the sound effects it is a great addition to our system.

We have purchased just about everything FP has to offer for GeoTrax, and our four year old just loves it. To the person below who gave it a bad review (waste of money) because it quit working, call Fisher Price. We had a problem with the remote for the "Bullet Train" (what my son calls it, it's a passenger train); my wife called FP and in two days, there was a $15 voucher in our mail box good on ANY FP toy. No questions, no receipts, just sent it to us. These are great products, and are backed by a great company.

I recently saw this on sale and picked it up for my 2 year old. LOVES IT! After loading the batteries, we spent a few minutes showing him how the remote works and he immediately mastered it. He loves watching the fire trucks go around the tracks, around the room...around the dog. The pieces are very durable and easy to snacp the pieces together and can;t wait to get another set to continue the fun with!

We bought our 2 year old son the huge Geotrax set for Christmas. It came with one remote control and train. I believe we spent over $50. In January we bought him the fire engine train and remote control for his birthday. We also purchased various accessories for the set. By early March both trains and/or their remote controls stopped functioning. We can't seem to find additional remote controlled trains anywhere. We've searched on-line, in stores, etc. and cannot find the trains. Now, we are left with over $100 in geotrax items with no working trains. My son is upset, and I am upset. Please don't waste your money on all this junk. The trains stop working only after about a month of use. I'm deeply disappointed in Fisher Price.

Don't start with this set unless you can resist buying the cool new additions that keep coming out. We've got two main sets, the mountain, the clock tower, the lighthouse, two extra trains, some extra trucks, and the elevation packs. We're looking at the airport and fire sets next - it's so much fun and our boys are thrilled with them. If they had their way, the whole track would cover the living room floor every night! Batteries last a long time, too. The only problem we've had is that the remotes for the two basic sets have the same frequency so you can only run one of those trains at a time.
