Absolutely essential time management and organization primer,
By chateaux24@aol.com (Motor City, Michigan) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Getting Things Done: The ABCs of Time Management (Hardcover)
This book was an inspiration that started me on a successful top management career. I've used this book in several leadership roles, over a 20-year period, as an motivational primer to set subordinates on a path to self-management and achievement. It's a quick and easy guide on how to get things done and to simplify your life too. Beats all of the other how-to books on time management that I've read, combined. Some of the basic management skills never change, no matter what the latest popular trend or fad.

My life is much more fun & balanced since reading this book!,

This review is from: Getting Things Done (Board book)
It's truly a shame that this book is no longer stocked. Since I first read it, back in 1990, I have recycled over 8 hours, per week, back into my personal life. This is the gift of this book. I learned that time management isn't simply a bunch of random techniques that allow you to spend more time at work. Instead, it's a set of a few effective principles that allow you to spend more time in your life. To play more. Visit more. Enjoy more. It's easy-to-read and easy-to-do. Within 7 days you'll see and "feel" the difference in your life!

This book is the book for the chronically disorganized,
By A Customer
This review is from: Getting Things Done-P252578/2 (Mass Market Paperback)
This book is the book for the chronically disorganized. It offers many practical and straightforward tips. I have read several books on the subject, most of which lectured the reader or talked down to them. This book provides bite-sized morsels of information. Disorganization is a life long problem, much like alcoholism. It is very easy to fall off the wagon. This book takes about an hour to read. Its length, humerous style and subject-by-subject organization makes it very practical to reread whenever one falls off the wagon. It has become my bible. The Complete Idiot's Guide to Organization and The Organized Executive Pale in comparison

This review is from: Getting Things Done (Audio Cassette)
I found this so useful that I bought copies for all my colleagues in my department and we used it as a resource for quick discussion meetings on how to save time. Full of practical sense.

Time well spent -- a handy reference work,

This review is from: Getting Things Done-P252578/2 (Mass Market Paperback)
This book is highly digestible, humorous, and full
of short 1-2 page guidelines on the many aspects
of life that divert us from getting things done.
It is not a "12-step program" but rather a useful collection of key notions that can be directly applied to work/home situations.

Short Practical Advice,

This review is from: Getting Things Done-P252578/2 (Mass Market Paperback)
This is the first time management book I read. This book contains sections of practical advice to help you get things done. I consider it almost as good as "Working Smart" by Michael Leboeuf.
