Right after the Japan earthquakes and tsunami, I realized that Nikon DSLR price in US will definitely go up (for whatever reason), I got myself a Nikon D7000 at MSRP to replace my aging D50. Thus, I was shopping for the screen protectors.

I read all the reviews on the GGS II and GGS III screen protector for various Nikon cameras. Due to a few complaints about the III, I decided to try this GGS II for about a half of price as compared to GGS III.
The package comes with 2 protectors, one is for the camera body rear 3-inch LCD screen, and the smaller one is for the information LCD on the top of the body. They fit perfectly. The installation process took less than 90 seconds, after I carefully cleaned the screens with a piece microfiber.

They are crystal clear and I don't see any degradation in pictures (to my 50+ years old eyes )

Hint: it is much easier to install the protectors with both front and rear covers removed - you will be able to align the edges with precision.

Note: the Nikon BM-11 LCD Cover will not be able to click on the GGS II protector securely anymore, due to the added thickness.

Highly recommended without any hesitation.

Installing the screen protector is easy (just make sure to have a microfiber cloth handy and a dust blower)

after installing it, it is as if my camera came with the screen, It is absolutely beautiful. Unlike the ugly plastic protector the D7000 comes with.

It is amazingly clear, seems scratch resistant, and (did i mention it looks amazing ??)

Including shipping, this product is about 20 dollars cheaper than the ZAGG Invisible shield protector.
Considering that the ZAGG protector is soft, tends to come off over time (though it does have a life time warranty), id rather have this GGS protector on. Both will protect the screen anyways.

I'm not sure how scratch resistant it really is though. After some use, ill chime in about my results.

I would recommend this product to any DSLR owner !!!

I'm back to purchase a second set of protectors. My D7000 was safely tucked into my back pack when the pack took a tumble from where I had stupidly placed it. In addition, I had packed some hard objects directly on top of the lcd screen thinking that I would never ever drop my camera. Like slow motion, I watched my bag fall and, being top heavy, flip and land directly on the screen. My worst fears were realized when I opened my bag and saw the screen shattered, like a bad movie. After getting my heart back in my chest, I slowly lifted off the screen protector and found that the lcd was in perfect shape! The screen protector had done just that - protected my screen. The best bit of insurance you can buy for your expensive camera. Great product. Should have 10 stars. I'm actually ordering this while I'm in the airport, 20 minutes after near disaster. I don't want to be without protection for my camera!

The LCD screen protector works well, and I would recommend them for all your cameras, if you are as (over) protective like I am.

One thing: many reviewers say how much better this protector is compared to the Nikon BM-11 Monitor Cover that comes with the camera. The Nikon cover is intended only for when the camera is in storage, not while it is being used. Nikon explicitly mentions this in the manual (page 17). So don't be surprised if the screen doesn't look as good when looking through the plastic cover...

I have been using a D300 for a few years now, which has the GGS glass overlay on both screens. They worked so well that I had to get them for my new D7000. They are well made and easy to install, can even be reused (but have not tried that yet). Easy to wipe off anything that gets on the surface, optically clear, and perfectly sized. No aging effects noticed on the D300. Funny how a lot of folks keep the Nikon plastic cover on the rear LCD and have problems seeing thru it. Note: the Nikon plastic cover WILL NOT fit with the GGS glass overlay installed on the rear LCD.

For the longest time after getting my D7000, I kept the Nikon screen protector on the back of the camera. One day I noticed how awful this made the screen look and decided I needed to see what other options were out there. This one came highly recommended--now I understand why. It's miles ahead of the plastic Nikon protector that comes with the camera.

It comes with a protector for both the rear screen as well as the top screen (next to the shutter release). Both stick on the existing screen. Provided you take care to make sure the screen is clean of oils and dust, it's pretty easy to apply these protectors to your camera.

Ok, so most importantly, how does it work? It works really well. I wouldn't say I'm rough on my camera, but I also don't baby it. It's a tool for me, and I treat it like a tool. I keep it handy so I have it when I need it, which means that it sometimes gets bumped around. In the three months or so I've used it, I haven't seen a single scratch on either screen. I haven't tried dropping the camera or hitting the screens with anything, and I don't intend to. I guess I look at it as a cheap insurance policy against scratches. The only downside is that it adds a little bit of thickness to the screens. They stick out from the body by just a bit. I really don't think there's any way to avoid this though, and it's a small price to pay in my mind--and not something that's ever caused me concern. All in all, I'd highly recommend these protectors for your D7000!

UPDATE:
My camera took an impact on the screen this in June 2012. I don't remember exactly how the impact happened, but I noticed that the screen had cracked at a single point. It didn't affect the visibility of the screen, so I left it on until I could order a new protector.
