Fits beautifully, and is as clear as crystal.
Diana J.
It protects the screen well, but when it inevitably cracks, it nearly ruins the camera.
Michael Crane
It does a great job of protecting the screen and I can't complain at all.

This product shows up as "frequently bought with" the Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX5 10.1 MP Digital Camera with 3.8x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 3.0-Inch LCD (Black), but it doesn't quite fit. It's not quite long enough, and a little too high. Unlike soft, flexible plastic screen protectors, you can't trim it to fit. It's too hard, and the adhesive is only on the edges, so you'd be cutting it off if you did manage to trim it. You can put it on if you remove the hot shoe cover (then put the hot shoe cover back on over it), but it blocks that little connection socket on the back of the camera, below the hot shoe. I believe it's used to plug in the optional external viewfinder.

I am not planning to use an external viewfinder, or the hotshoe, for that matter, so I can live with it. It does seem to be a very high-quality screen protector. However, the GGS Optical Glass DSLR LCD Screen Protector for Panasonic Lumix DMC LX5 / LX3 and Leica D-LUX4 might be a better choice for LX-5 owners. (I haven't tried that one, but since it's specifically made for the LX-5, presumably it fits better.)

This is glass so it won't scratch as easily as plastic film screen protectors and it looks a lot better than some others (no bubbles, irregular surface, etc.). It's just a clear smooth surface that can be cleaned, carefully of course, to remove the unavoidable fingerprints, smudges and other grime that gets on a camera. The glass itself doesn't appear to touch the LCD. It attaches by adhesive foam around the edges so I am not certain how easy removal will be if necessary, but it is doing its job and looks great now.

easy to install, well made and sturdy, looks great, protects like fort knox (offers much greater protection that thin-film type protectors), no bubbles - what else could i ask for?

If you are looking for a screen protector for your Leica D Lux 5, this is a good one to buy. I had been searching for an LCD screen protector for my camera for some time and was directed to GGS Optical glass protector by some good folks on Flickr. Purchased this product and it works perfectly on my D Lux 5. Easy to apply, bright and clear and (so far) has stayed in place and functions perfectly.

It fits perfectly on my D-Lux 5. Put it on in a slightly humid bathroom so static electricity and particles in the air are suppressed.

I rate it 5 stars. The one time I dropped my camera, it saved my lcd screen from being cracked. I would highly recommend this, for the $5 I spent it saved me costly repairs.

It worked great for over a year. So well that I forgot I had it on even. Then, one day it cracked and shattered, making it difficult to see the lcd screen. To remove it, I had to pry it off with a knife. In the process the glass shattered even more, and made a mess of tiny grains of sharp glass all over the place. There's residue from the adhesive left on the lcd screen that a good 10 minutes of rubbing hasn't removed. I'm sure elbow grease will eventually get it, but this was a huge pain overall.

It protects the screen well, but when it inevitably cracks, it nearly ruins the camera.

As I have said earlier, I was extremely impressed with the whole process. Not only was it efficient but also quick with no hassles. Thanks again.
