Right after the Japan earthquakes and tsunami, I realized that Nikon DSLR price in US will definitely go up (for whatever reason), I got myself a Nikon D7000 at MSRP to replace my aging D50. Thus, I was shopping for the screen protectors.

I read all the reviews on the GGS II and GGS III screen protector for various Nikon cameras. Due to a few complaints about the III, I decided to try this GGS II for about a half of price as compared to GGS III.

The package comes with 2 protectors, one is for the camera body rear 3-inch LCD screen, and the smaller one is for the information LCD on the top of the body. They fit perfectly. The installation process took less than 90 seconds, after I carefully cleaned the screens with a piece microfiber.

They are crystal clear and I don't see any degradation in pictures (to my 50+ years old eyes )

Hint: it is much easier to install the protectors with both front and rear covers removed - you will be able to align the edges with precision.

Note: the Nikon BM-11 LCD Cover will not be able to click on the GGS II protector securely anymore, due to the added thickness.

Highly recommended without any hesitation.

The LCD screen protector works well, and I would recommend them for all your cameras, if you are as (over) protective like I am.

One thing: many reviewers say how much better this protector is compared to the Nikon BM-11 Monitor Cover that comes with the camera. The Nikon cover is intended only for when the camera is in storage, not while it is being used. Nikon explicitly mentions this in the manual (page 17). So don't be surprised if the screen doesn't look as good when looking through the plastic cover...

A smart and very transparent way of substituting the plastic screen protector that comes with the D7000.

All the info in the screen becomes clearer, it is easy to clean but it needs to be installed carefully, the contact adhesive is very strong and if not located right at the beginning, would be difficult to reposition after.

It is a great product. very satisfied.
