Ordered 9 of these for in-house builds. We have used foxconn, abit, and asus. Nothing matches the stability of this board. All 9 work great, with the exception of 2 that had some sort of startup delay where the fans kick on, then off, then on again. Then it boots up fine. Bought this board about a year ago and found out quickly one of the memory slots is bunk. I didnt really mind it as the comp ran fine when I used the other two slots. Recently I decided I needed a memory upgrade so I decided to take advantage of the 3 year warranty. They approved my RMA quickly, but required me to return the mobo before they'd ship me a new one. 5.0 out of 5 stars The best P45 I've used., April 1, 2009
This review is from: GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3P LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard (Personal Computers)
Ordered 9 of these for in-house builds. We have used foxconn, abit, and asus. Nothing matches the stability of this board. All 9 work great, with the exception of 2 that had some sort of startup delay where the fans kick on, then off, then on again. Then it boots up fine. When shutting down, the fans shut off just slightly before everything else and an alarm sounds until you press and hold the power button. We did hear of others having this problem, so we got and used the latest bios and that seemed to solve it. With Q9550 (2.83, 333x8.5 stock) we are able to get 3.77Ghz just using the tool in the bios. Stable in Intel burntest as well as 12 hour Prime95. Video conversion will often bring a system to its knees and cause BSODs where Prime95 doesn't, but with this combination I converted a 22gb transport stream into a 4gb x.264 using ffmpeg and had no errors.
It has a dual bios, so no matter what, you can power up and solve any issue. You can also brand your bios with a 256-color BMP and in a corporate environment it is nice to not have a Monster Truck or Alien showing up first thing when you deploy a system. E-sata is a huge plus also. SATA Raid works very well, although it is slightly slower in RAID1 than I think it should be. But it is stable. Will not ever try RAID0 on onboard raid, so can't comment there.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gigabyte EP45-UD3P Outstanding Value for 2009, July 7, 2009

This review is from: GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3P LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard (Personal Computers)
I wanted to replace and aged 3200Mhz Pentium D and old an 2005 main-board with some newer technology. As I am retired, I did not want to break the bank by buying ultra expensive cutting edge hardware and main-boards. If this matches your needs check out the EP45-UD3P motherboard ASAP. I did and it has been a bang up choice for 2009.

Today SATA has replaced PATA and though the EP45-UD3P motherboard supports both I am abandoning all the old relatively slow PATA devices. The EP45-UD3P has eight SATA 3.0 sockets! This means the EP45-UD3P works with the newer fast 1.5TB hard drives which require SATA 3.0 to work at maximum speed. Also you have plenty of connections for one or two Samsung OEM Dual layer Lightscribe 20x DVD in SATA which are about $25 and a great value for system builders.

The EP45-UD3P motherboard supports old Pentium 4D all the way to Duo Quad 9000 CPUs. I opted for a Q9550 after the big summer 2009 price cut made it an outstanding value. The advantage is that a quad CPU offers great support for 64 bit OS and multitasking. You can boot between 32 and 64 bit versions of Windows plus 32 and 64 bit Ubuntu Linux which is fast becoming an outstanding free alternative to anything from Microsoft. The
EP45-UD3P supports more DDR2 memory than most motherboards, 16GB for those with a 64 bit OS. That sort of future proofs your investment for awhile.

A really sharp system builder will even find it super easy to use the EP45-UD3P motherboard as the basis for adding OSx to the multi-boot OS menu. Yes aside from buying a Macintosh a hacker could build his own 'Hackintosh' in a heartbeat with the EP45-UD3P motherboard and the right Nvidia graphics card as long as you stay away from PATA devices. Yes you can use a few ATI cards too but the operative words here are QUICK and EASY. Think about it, you could easily have your very own Snow Leopard Hac some day. Really, who would ever want Windows Seven if they had that?

Actually a Google search for EP45-UD3P and OSx will show there are an amazing number of people buying the EP45-UD3P for that very purpose. This secret fact adds resale value to your purchase of the EP45-UD3P.

BTW the EP45-UD3P has dual CMOS and a new security technology built in that some may find useful with some of the varied OS options the main-board supports.

All in all from overclocking for games to experimenting with the best programs and OS available for any PC you will be hard pressed to find a better 775 hardware value than what the Gigabyte EP45-UD3P offers this year.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great board for gaming, May 1, 2009
This review is from: GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3P LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard (Personal Computers)
This board is perfect for high performance in a budget. This board will run every LGA775 intel cpu with ease. It also has very good overcloacking functions and capabilities. The heatsink in the northbridge chip make it easy to have to board work more than default state. Very good devices location, making it easy to install video cards and others pci devices. Will only run 2 video cards made by ATI. No SLI support. Still I have a GTX260 and don't need any more than that. Will easily support 16GB of ram. Lot's of SATA ports and USB ports (8). Will definitively buy again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Solid, Stable, Cool, April 16, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3P LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard (Personal Computers)
This is my 5th Gigaybyte Board in 1 year. I have 5 systems running nothing but Gigabyte Boards.

This one is as the others. SOlid, Stable and very cool running. She has been very easy to Overclock. Lots of options for clocking.

Not a lot for me to say. Very reliable boards. I have 2 945's, 1 G31,1 EP35 and now this one. Very happy.

I had an Abit IP35Pro which was a nice board, easy to clock, but not compatible with my audio cards. I replaced it with this one and things are rock solid.

Running a Q6600 at 3.2Ghz, 8GB Corsair XMS2 Memory.

Amazon is really awesome! I purchased this board for a new build. My original board was DOA, but Amazon sent me another Overnight Priority. This thing is a monster for overclocking and Gigabyte honors a three year warranty (Build date not purchase date). I've been using their boards for all of my builds. Awesome price with dependability from this company. No wonder they are the leaders of motherboard manufacturing. This board is also very desirable for building the almighty "Hackintosh".

The board is good enough, but GIGABYTES support is terrible.

This review is from: GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3P LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard (Personal Computers)
Purchased this board back in Nov 2009, ended up with Revision 1.6. It's been slowly crapping out on me over the past 6 months, and now is completely gone. One year of being a good little mobo and doing what it's told, 6 months of fighting. Guess I need to move my upgrade plans up by 2 years.

I needed to upgrade an old PC so I started looking for a new Motherboard. I already own the Asus P5Q-Deluxe so I thought I would buy another one. I couldn't find it anywhere so after alot of research I decided to buy this board.

I put a Q9550 in this board with G.Skill 5-5-5-15 1066 memory and everything worked without a hitch. I currently have it overclocked to 3.6ghz with smaill bios tweeks. I haven't tried any higher but I'll probably get this board up to 4ghz from what i've read so far.

Both the P5Q Deluxe and EP45-UD3P are great boards. I would buy either one again. They both have little quirks with the fans (I use speedfan to control my fan speeds). The plus with the Gigabyte is you can use a 3-pin CPU fan and still control the fan speed since it supports the ability to control the voltage in the Bios. The P5Q doesn't support this so i needed a 4-pin CPU fan. A plus for the Gigabyte.

The P5Q has more fan headers and they work with speedfan. The Gigabyte only has 2 (usable) headers (excluding the cpu fan) and only 1 can be controlled by speedfan. I had to remove my top fan and use a Antec fan with a 3-speed switch. A plus for the Asus.

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally the best 45nm 775 Motherboard, March 22, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3P LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard (Personal Computers)
I've had a 680i motherboard with a core 2 duo but needed something new when I bought the q9550 because it wouldn't support a 45nm chip. So I went first with the 750i EVGA FTW. On paper it sounds good but in action it failed. Then went with the ASUS P5N-D kept it for a couple of weeks and realized that it just didn't have the overclocking capability that I wanted. 3.2 GHZ stable but couldn't get the fsb 380 running stable. Finally I decided to go for this one. AND WOW got my q9550 clocked at 3.8 stable without effort. The bios is really easy to use and the board layout is just PERFECT. I have dual GPUS in there with one PCI card and have enough room in my opinion.

This is the indeed the best 775 board out there. I great board if you are not ready to upgrade to an i7

5.0 out of 5 stars Great performance with a few issues, March 12, 2010

This review is from: GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3P LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard (Personal Computers)
Great board and great performance for the price. Lots of USB ports and SATA connections.
However, sometimes the system wouldn't boot just hung. Finally figured out that the external SATA / USB drive was causing the MB to hang at boot. Never figured out what setting would fix this - just disconnected the external drives at boot time.
