a girl like loos,

anita loos was there in hollywood's big studio hey-day and her book is a compendium of her memoirs of the era so much of it is about people who have long since ceased to matter. she is gossipy and often acerbic and scholars digging in to that period, the 20s and 30s, will find her observations helpful.
