I usually travel for Christmas, so I haven't had a tree for several years. This year, however, I'm hosting the family at my house, so a tree is a necessity.

Problem is -- I have two very active curious cats. I had visions of shattered glass ornaments strewn all over the house. Not a pleasant thought!

What a wonderful surprise to find this unbreakable ornament set on Amazon. I opted for the 85-piece set in gold. My color scheme is copper and gold, so the color fit right in.

There is a tremendous assortment of shapes -- check out the center image above. I ended up using the star for my tree topper -- it's the perfect size and weight. The filigree snowflakes are beautiful and provide a perfect amount of "flash." Many of the ornaments are covered in glitter -- really beautiful when placed near the lights (and they don't shed, either).

These are high-quality ornaments -- yes, they're plastic, but you'd never know it by looking at them.

Best of all -- my cats can play midnight soccer to their hearts' content, and I don't have to worry about breakage.

I bought the 85-piece set in silver for my first ever Christmas tree. As I didn't want to spend hundreds of dollars on ornaments, I opted for this set. You get a good variety of balls, stars, bells, and snowflakes. The quality is certainly not as high as you would expect from glass ornaments but at this price point the set is a very good value. Some of the ornaments - especially the glitter stars - look a bit cheap so I left them in the box. The shiny silver pieces are definitely the highlight. Some of the balls do look like tiny disco balls. I thought they don't look very festive so I also did not unpack them. In the end I think we ended up using around half of the included ornaments but we still felt like we got decent value for money.

My last small gripe with this set is that apart from the snow flakes, none of the ornaments came with hooks. So my girlfriend and me ended up working a production line: I sat at the table creating little hoops from string and then handed the ornament over to her to put on the tree (She's the more creative one anyway :-) ). While this increased the time it took to get the ornaments up, because we had tea and played Christmas music in the background, it actually made for a wonderfully serene winter afternoon. :-)

This is a great value. I got it home and was impressed with the amount of different shapes and styles you get for the money. It breaks down to about 45 cents per each. Even as a professional decorator I can't get this at cost. I am buying more in every color to help fill wreaths and garlands for my clients. Great Value!!!!

This set is very pretty with a great amount of variety. Against the lights on my tree, the colors stand out and provide pretty shine. This was a gold box deal so the value was really good.

My only criticism is that the set didn't come with hooks for the ornaments nor did it indicate they weren't included. That made for an annoying pause in decorating to run out and grab the hooks. Otherwise, great value and very pretty ornaments.

This was a nice little set for the money...did not look that big until I got everything unpacked and these were more than enough for decorating a 6 foot tree. Very happy with my purchase!

What a great price! They are beautiful in the box, can't wait to see on the tree. I bought one of each color so I could have them all!!

With 3 cats, 2 grandchildren, and one little dog, I really need my ornaments to be pretty and drop proof. These satisfy all requirements. Molly Meluv swatted them all over my house; none broke.

I Ordered the gold and it is a nice set I hated the bigger package of them... The 85 Set is a much better buy Then the bigger package.. The Bigger Package it has such cheap looking things in it .. I really like this package ..Does not have hooks so go pick up a package of hooks but other then that they are great with a child and dogs I could not have glass so this is a great package for my house hold...I Have to tell you..... do not buy the 100 some set.... Buy the 85 set I wish I had done that I bought the 100 some in silver do not I repeat do not buy... Buy the 85 set and you will be happy....

You can buy these sets at your local chain retail store (Walmart, Meijer, Target) for $20.00-this is a total rip off. Save over half and just look there at Christmas time.

Ornaments arrived quickly and in good condition. I also ordered the gold set as well. Was very disappointed that no hooks were included in this set or the gold set. I had to purchase hooks on amazon.com in addition to this set. Other than that, this is a good solid set of Christmas tree ornaments
