The SERVICE was fine so this is not a reflection on the packing or shipping. Unless I missed this information in the description, it was not stated that the small light bulb is of an unknown variety. I thought that similar available bulbs would be as easy to use as the batteries. I don't think that any information was given that would enable me to buy more bulbs either. I could be wrong. The original bulb flickers as stated, but is dim compared to any/all other lamps that truly "shed light" when in use. The bulb/battery assembly is readily removable. One might be able to replace them with an actual candle within the base and the hurricane vase shaped glass top, but one would have no way to know if the glass might shatter from that small amount of heat.

I took delivery of two of these lamps, and have to say they look pretty good as giant paperweights, but are pretty low quality. One never worked, the other lasted about 2 months. The edges of the glass are not finished, and one had a small chip.

Would not purchase again.

When I first got the candle lamp I thought it looked a little big and bland. I bought an ivy wreath and put it around the base and it looks beautiful. It's nice and heavy, gives a golden flickering glow. I have it on a small table at the end of a hallway. I have to have a fake candle there as there is no outlet there and a real candle set off the smoke alarm! I think it's a great deal. I bought 2 more for gifts!

I just received one and I am already ordering a couple more. No, it is not a 50 dollar lamp but is worth what it is selling for. Would be great at Christmas time. I am putting them in the windows in the upstairs of my old farm house. I may shabby chic paint the bottom to go with my antique chic decor. For the low price, you can be creative. Makes a great night light. All in all I am very pleased.

This was such a wonderful item. It was better than I thought it would be. I wasn't expecting something so beautiful. I love it! It makes a wonderful Christmas decoration. NOT CHILDPROOF! The vase is heavy glass and tall so I wouldn't recommend sitting this somewhere where there would be a lot of traffic, pets or kids! The style of the product is really amazing. The picture doesn't do it justice.

I bought two of these for Christmas gifts for next year and got them in yesterday. They are absolutely beautiful. I plan on making them into a 4 seasons centerpiece for the table for two lucky people on my gift list. Will include 4 different candle rings to go with the seasons.
The lamps is a beautiful size for a centerpiece for a dining table or coffee table. Would look good in a bay window or on a mantle also. It is 3 pieces so it's easy to access the candle insize and uses three C batteries. I have to say I am really pleased with this item and will consider more.

These lamps have to rank in my top 2 worst amazon purchases ever. I HATE THEM. I got them because they look cool and were very cheaply priced. I got a pair to go on the mantle to use at night for ambiance or for when the electricity goes out. Well, I cannot tell you how clunky, cheap, and stupid they look on my mantle. The base is very cheap thin plastic (like dollar store) and VERY WIDE. Too wide for the mantle. These are way bigegr than I thought they'd be. They are not slender and classy looking. They are huge and fat and ugly.

Second, the light is ridiculous. Barely any light, a very fake looking flicker (like it has a loose wire). And to turn it there isn't just a switch on the back, you have to take it apart and hit a switch on the inner bottom.

I totally hate these ugly, cheapo, dollar store looking lamps but it is too much a waste of time and money to return them. I would not pay a dollar for these.

The only reason I didn't return this lamp is because shipping would have cost more than the refund for what I paid ($6.60). The lamp doesn't work, and would never have worked given the poorly engineered battery compartment. The plastic cover won't stay on tight enough for the batteries to make a connection. The 3 C batteries sit on the battery cover, and sheer gravitational pull actually pops the cover loose. I tried taping it shut with masking, duct, and packaging tapes, all to no avail. The lamp is useless and will go to Goodwill on the next trip. Maybe someone can use the glass dome by itself.

As you can see, the original price was $50 and now it's under $10. The reason is that it's really not a good product at all. It might be a good idea to give as a gift but not as one that you would want to keep for yourselves. Since it's battery operated, you will need to change the battery every now and then. The light emitted by the bulb with the 3 batteries is not even nice looking. And one of the most annoying thing is that you have to lift up the hurricane vase to get to the small on/off power switch.

It appears nice in the picture, but it's clearly a cheap product in person.
