Product Description

They will work with wire gauge as large as 12 gauge. They have .75" spacing between the gold tips. Feel free to buy as many sets of 16 as you would like. Please Note: The spacing between the tips is the industry standard .75". If your speakers or receiver does not have .75" spacing then you will require Single Banana plugs instead of Dual Banana plugs. Single Banana Plugs are available for the non-standard plug arrangement, see our GLS Audio Black Chrome Series Banana Plugs and Locking Series Banana Plugs!!

These are very good quality plugs.

Connecting the wire is easy using an eyeglasses-style screwdriver and results in a very secure plug that will fit in standard speaker pair terminals.

I had looked at buying the more expensive individual plugs, but I'm really happy I chose these instead.

I bought a set of these as an "impulse buy" while shopping for other electronics. I noticed the product because I'd just bought the exact same set off of Orange County Speaker's website a couple of weeks prior. The dual plugs are a really good design. I like this design better than that of the 2-3 other single banana plug styles I've tried (these averaged less than half the cost of the single plugs I'd tried and these connected both POS and NEG terminals so I only needed half as many). The wire loops through the back of the connector and then the ends are screwed down by small set screws. Connecting the wire is easy using an eyeglasses-style screwdriver and results in a very secure plug that will fit in standard speaker pair terminals. It makes it easy to move stereo gear (simple to pop the plugs in or out) and simplifies the process if you are reaching in from the front or side of the gear because no need to screw wires on or off the terminals. The only area that could be somewhat better is if they found a way to color the individual plugs with a red side and a black side (I marked POS and NEG sides with a Sharpie so I wouldn't cross connect the speaker terminals). EVEN BETTER, the company stands by its product. My shipment was missing a red plug and Amazon Customer Service couldn't replace it since it was fulfilled by a third-party merchant (Amazon offered a partial refund in compensation). I decided to contact Orange County Speakers and they sent me a plug within a couple of days -- no questions or hassles. THAT's the kind of company that I like to do business with! Highly recommended product and even more respected company!

I love these plugs! They are very easy to wire and fit securely in my stereo. I am using heavy gauge wire (16 AWG) and these clips hold the wire very nicely.

Many past reviewers complained about the plugs not being marked. That didn't bother me because I used the plugs differently.

For my stereo (Denon AVR-1910), the plugs wouldn't fit the span between the positive and negative plugs for the same speaker. For example, the Front Left speaker... one of these plugs wouldn't fit between the positive and negative posts as the distance between the posts was too wide.

The good news is that the plugs fit perfectly between two positive plugs next to each other. So I ended up using the red plug to wire the Front left and Front right positive too, then the black plug to wire the front left and front right negative.

Not sure if this is how the plugs are supposed to work, but it ended up working great for me!

These dual banana plugs were perfect for my needs. They have the standard 3/4" pin spacing and a tab on one side that denotes the negative speaker lead. My Energy Take Classic speakers, Onkyo A/V receiver and speaker wall plates all accept these dual banana plugs. I make up cables using red plugs for the right speakers and black plugs for the left speakers with the negative leads to the tab side of the plugs. This assures all speakers are in phase.

With some speaker wall plates, the binding post are not spaced at 3/4" and require individual banana plugs. Some wall plates do accept a dual banana plug. See my other reviews for more info on this.

Again, these are quality, tight fitting dual banana plugs at a great price and fast shipping. They even came with a few extra set screws in case you loose one.

I purchased these for electronic instrument hookups and the first thing I did after inspecting them was ensure they plugged into the multimeter and TDR instruments. They do. The only main problem might be the large loop for the cable to go through as it doesn't really act as a strain relief. It would probably be better to have two hole where you could run a zip tie or something.
One note: If you are thinking of using these on your home stereo receiver or speakers; check the post to post measurement as most music equipment I've seen doesn't use the standard spacing.

The plugs I received do NOT look like those in the picture. I subtracted 1 rating star for that reason, and another star because Amazon no longer allows us to post pictures of the actual items so customers can see what to expect instead of the promised product of which the sellers are *supposed* to post pictures ("bait and switch" is what most attorneys general call it when they send cease and desist orders).

So, the way I use these... I pull apart the 12AWG or 14AWG zip cord (aka lamp cord) insulation about an inch and a half (37mm), insert through the strain relief, strip off about an inch (25mm) of insulation, bend the wires down 90 degrees at the edge of the insulation, then retighten the twist, dip in rosin flux, tin with 1/16'' silver solder (apply from the end of the wire; remove the heat just before the solder wicks up to the bend) to prevent copper oxidation from impeding the signal (copper oxide is 40x more resistive than silver oxide)... pry the ends out to a Y shape, pull the wire back through the strain relief until the ends are over the holes, insert and tighten. Most people probably won't have the screwdriver they'll need to tighten the screws properly. I find the Stanley (part# 66-114) 100 Plus Cabinet Tip Screwdriver works excellent for that purpose.
