I use these XLR cables to connect my amps to the balanced inputs of my processor. I can not detect any difference on any of the 7 channels when I swap out to a considerably more expensive cable. Like most premium cables, it's a waste of money to buy the expensive branded Monster, Cardas, AudioQuest, Kimber, Tributaries and the like. There are many OEM mfg's out there that sell cable at a fraction of the price and I would challenge anyone in a blind test to tell them apart. The important parts of a cable are the connections and depending on your application, the shielding.

Purchased these cables for two reasons: (1)I didn't have the time to make up the cables I needed for an installation, and (2)the color code makes it easy to track for quick wiring. I purchased the 6' and 3' lengths with various terminations and found the quality of the cable and connectors to be professionally fabricated. I was concerned by the description of balanced snake (thinking that they were tied together) but pleased to find that they are individually packed in separate packages. The packing also gave the added attraction of using velcro strips to fasten each cable. The cable arrived on time and save me time and money overall. I just can't say enough good things about these cable.

Inexpensive balanced cables often come at a price from an audio perspective. Getting rid of the hum is the usual concern. No such problems with these cables, and since they latch in place, there's no risk of a line being pulled out by one of our stray animals or children. The color code is nice, and the 3' length is perfect for a setup where preamp and amp are adjacent to one another.

Nice cables.

I bought these because they work well for DMX lighting. Some people have said that they have issues with XLR cables when used as DMX. My setup is fairly simple, and I have never had trouble. I've spent money on true DMX cables, and the performance was the same.

Now, audio quality. XLR is XLR if the cable is working well. Unless you're in a studio or something, there is really difference in sound that I've ever been able to tell. Having said that, I personal make my own XLR cables using Mogami Gold XLR and Neutrik connectors. I travel with my gear often and use top-of the line equipment. Making my own cables, I know I can make the quality super high and I don't worry that every other time I use them, a cable will have gone bad. I've never been able to tell the difference between a "cheap" XLR cable and one of my own that I've made, as long as the soldering of the connections is good and it's a short run. If you're running hundreds of feet of cable, then maybe you'll want better cables, but for short runs these should do fine if you treat them with some care and don't beat them up over and over.

So, use them for DMX or use them for audio--either way I think they'll get the job done. They're not the fanciest and certainly not made with world-class components. But, if you need cheap cables, these likely won't kill you and probably shouldn't destroy your sound... ;)

I use this to patch in four ports from a BBE DI-400 4 Channel Active Direct Box Direct Injection DI Box and two from an Alesis Mic Tube Duo Stereo Tube Microphone Preamplifier into a mixer. First, the size is perfect in my rack configuration. The cables easily reach, and the color coding makes it a snap to see at a glance what is connected to what. That is a great improvement over tags and labels that require you to get close to read.

What makes these a bargain is construction. The insulators are tough and do not easily nick when being dragged around on rough stages. However, it's the attention to small construction details that I love. The XLR ends are quality components, but cheap, ill fitting junk that some companies use to keep costs down. And unlike those cheap ones these will mate and disengage smoothly. Another factor is the strain reliefs at each end. Those keep the conductors from fraying or breaking inside the cable, which will often occur at cable ends on cables without them.

Overall each cable in this set is constructed to withstand frequent set-up and teardown, and is built to last. If you are shopping for patch cables in this size these are a great value in my opinion because you will probably not have to replace them for years.

Great working Cables. I would recommend this seller and these cable as being an excellent buy. To me, the cables are on par with all the more expensive ones, the color coding is of great assistance. Members in my band are quite impressed with them. Service delivery was prompt--no problem there! These cables are well made and worth every penny. I ordered these cables in June 23, 2011 from Orange and was so impressed that I reordered Oct 2011. I use them for my mixer , eq, effects and direct box connections. Great Patch cables. They worked and are working so fine that I just had to order these extra sets and some others of varying lengths of this GLS product. I would to do so and use Orange County in the future once I need cables. This provider has given me excellent service and quality on each occasion that I have ordered stuff from them. Their products are of high quality! Well Done and Just great cables. Keep up the excellent standard.

I use the cables to connect our wireless mic unit to our mixing board, even though we are currently using only 4 of the cables the color coding was a GREAT idea, this way we can have each individual on their same channel and leave the settings in place without changing them, the color coding helps in knowing who is on what mic and luck has it that the cables were colored the same as the mic. Very satisfied with the quality of the cable, appears that we got a clearer sound once we changed out the other ones, (which were 15-25 foot) the shorter cables eliminated the excess cabling that we had coming from the mixing board. Once again THANK YOU for your product and look forward in doing business with you again.

I have purchased several batches of these XLR patch cables in different lengths (3 ft and 25 ft), as well as their 1/4" TRS connector patch cords, and some 1/4" TRS to 1/4" TS Y-cable splitter cables and a couple sets of XLR splitters, as well. All of these have been excellent cables--well made and no bad cables in the bunch. I particularly like the color-coded patch cables. Cables are made with very flexible and soft insulation jackets, making them easy to work with and route. Excellent cables at a great price. I will definitely look first at GLS cables in the future to see if they have what I need when buying audio cables.

I purchased a six pack of 3 foot XLR audio cables. They were very reasonably priced, shipped promptly and arrived on Tuesday following Labor Day, even though I ordered them on the Friday before.

The cables were exactly what I was looking for. They are good quality, and work great with my home theater pre/pro and amplifier. The different colors made running them and ensuring correct connection a snap.

They came from a small company called Orange County Speaker, and I would definitely order from them again.
