If you're looking for some affordable mics you can't go wrong.

The GLS is a little bit hotter (required less gain) and if you hand hold the mic you can hear a bit of noise from handling it.

Looks great, sounds great, feels great, takes a fair amount of abuse.

I ordered this microphone as a replacement for an old EV stage mic I had been having issues with. I really wanted a Shure SM58, but the budget wouldn't allow it, so I read a bunch of reviews, almost all of which were "glowing", and took a chance. The mic arrived well packed in perfect condition with the accessory clip as advertised. I got to finally "A-B" the mic, this past weekend, against a genuine SM58 and my new ES58 performed flawlessly. I could hardly tell them apart. The GLS is a little bit hotter (required less gain) and if you hand hold the mic you can hear a bit of noise from handling it. But most often, I use it in a stand.

I will likely order up a few of these for my studio. I'm very impressed.

Regarding Orange County Speaker, the service was great, I received the mic a day early. I've done business with them in the past and had no reservations when I ordered my mic. Excellent transaction AND, ordering through Amazon saved me the shipping/handling charges.

I am a long time home recording studio engineer/musician and have a variety of microphones from $100 to $900. This was my first purchase below $100. There are lots of cheap dynamic microphones out there - the trick is finding one that sounds good and is built well. Honestly this is a very well made microphone with a sound signature very close to the Shure SM58 Beta. Some might say it even sounds better than the Shure. Microphones are in my opinion aren't good or bad (speaking of the sound signature) you just have to find the right pairing of sound source and mic that match. This mic has a great hyper-cardioid pattern, great output, and able to withstand a fair amount of input volume. Having a bit more sensitivity and output when compared to the Shure it may seem that it has a higher level of mic handling noise - but I am more inclined to believe it just has more output when directly comparing one to the other. At this price there is no reason not to have a couple around for stage or studio work. Yes it is Chinese made but sold by Orange County Speaker Co a US owned and operated business. Good product at a great price.

These are great mics for the price. Most performers do not know they are knockoffs of the sm58 beta until you tell them. They are prefect for our church choir.

This mic was recommended to me by a band mate as an alternative to the comparable Shure product. For less than half the cost of an SM58 I have a mic that is just as good if not better. Highly recommended.

Admittedly this isn't the best mic ever made, that being said, for the price this mic is excellent.

If you're looking for some affordable mics you can't go wrong.

But, as the other reviewer stated, you can hear pops when the mic is handled. Just leave it in the mic stand and you'll be fine.

Purchased four of these for our classic rock band rehearsals. They work great and appear to be very solidly built, so i would have no hesitation taking these on the road. Overall great value.
