BUY THIS BOOK!, March 3, 2000
This review is from: GM: Lumina APV, Silhouette, Trans Sport, '90'95 (Haynes Repair Manual) (Paperback)
If you want to waste your money. This book basically tells you that you're too stupid to fix this take it to a mechanic. I am not exagerating! It doesn't tell you you're stupid but it suggests that you are. This book is worthless. Do yourself a favor and get the Chilton's Manual for your car. They may tell you if a job is a pain but they will still tell you how it's done. And they actually give you tons of diagrams and lots of pictures so unlike the Haynes manual.

(...) I'm not exagerating, the only thing that this book has that I don't have in memory are some helpful specs if rebuilding the engine ,etc.,but most people don't have the resources or time do it.The claim is that this book is based on actual rebuilding, and I'm quite sure the mechanic pictured on the back cover did this entire book in the same day.LOTS OF USELESS FILLER. Do yourself a favor and buy a Chilton's (...)

Good Book, although not to specific, October 19, 2001
This review is from: GM: Lumina APV, Silhouette, Trans Sport, '90'95 (Haynes Repair Manual) (Paperback)
I am from México and I bought a Lumina APV 91 that is Salvage. So I went to PEPBOYS, the first time they made me spend ... to do repairs that later I found out they weren't exactly necessary. So I decided that I would repair my car by myself next time. I bought this book and I have sucessfully repaired: Oil change, Transmission service, replace water pump including flushing the system and changing thermostat, PCM temperature sensor and Gauge temperature sensor, brakes, full tune up, tensor of drive belt, fuse check, drive belt, motor and transmission mountings. I think that I have saved around ... to ... in labor costs. The book has been very helpful, although I should tell you is not very specific and I have needed to ask people more than once when doing these repairs. But I think that if I hadn't gotten the book, I wouldn't have been able to do all these repairs. The next repair that I am going to perform is the replacement of the A/C compressor, I think that I'll do it without a problem. I have studied the replacement of the alternator and of the starter and I think that I would be able to do them with this book. I also want to tell you that concerning the elevetor motors of the doors, you are on your own, it does not have anything about this (I need to work on them and I had to go to the dealer to ask them to print me an exploded view of the door). I have no experience with other books, but I hope you find helpful my sharing of my experience. Thanks.
