I actually purchased "Haynes General Motors N-Cars Automotive Repair Manual: Buick Skylark (1986 Thru 1998), Buick Somerset (1985 Thru 1987), Oldsmobile Achieva (1992 Thru 1998), Oldsmobile Calais (1985 Thru 1991), Pontiac (Haynes Automotive Repair Manual" for a friend of mine who owns a 1987 Buick Skylark with chronic problems, but I have read this book, as well as other Haynes titles, and I find it to be informative, well-planned and useful.

The pictures and instructions are clear and relevant to the descriptions and are focused on the common (and unique) problems people face when fixing what ails these vehicles.

Believe you me, as a veteran of at least a half-dozen of these GM N-cars, I think the company should give these out free with each car.

If you're considering this book, go ahaead and get it. You'll thank me later.

As the old saying goes "Jack of all trades - Master of none". This manual tries to cover five different GM models and as a result does none of them well. While attempting to diagnose a fuel feed problem in my 1994 Grand Am I found several errors in the documentation. The manual will cover one type of system in a particular year group and gives you the infamous... other models similar. So, while it's better than stumbling around in the dark I can't recommend spending $22 for it.

The manual was not in as good a condition as listed. Haynes Manual is too general.
