This review is from: GM12-AUXV2 PIE Adjustable Auxiliary Input For 2002-2005 GM / Chevrolet / Cadillac / GMC / Pontiac Class II Radios (GM12-AUXV2) (Electronics)
After the successful installation, the product works great. I chose to go with this type versus an iPod dock just for the flexibility to use any mp3 player. The only issue was during the installation. The maker, PIE has a leaflet style installation sheet. It says:
"For radios with 'BAND' button, jumper must be in 'XM' position" My 2004 Venture has a 'BAND' button. Problem solved. Not so fast. The rest of the instructions say: "for radios WITHOUT 'BAND' button, jumper must be in 'CHANGER' position(Uses CD/AUX button to access changer mode or Aux-input)" Well, this is a bit confusing because my factory radio clearly has a BAND button AND a CD/AUX button. My gut told me to choose CHANGER, but I didn't listen and instead re-crimped the connector. Still didn't work. As I mentioned, my 2004 Venture radio has a rocker style button with BAND on one side and CD/AUX on the other. If you have this style factory radio, choose the "CHANGER" position and you'll be all set. Oh yeah...if you have a gut feeling about something, don't do like I did...listen to it.

Very good way to add an AUX Input to your stock stereo. This product is for people who want to stay with the stock stereo - perhaps because of the steering wheel controls or other options.
Installation was pretty easy. Tapping into a 12V source was the trickiest part. Works great with my 2005 Silverado. Sound is good. Highly recommended. So a web search to find plenty of installation tips from people who have used the product.

The product works as advertised but requires some effort to install. I installed it in my 2005 Yukon XL and it took about two hours because I took my time to solder the power and ground connections along with fishing wires up through the dash to my Sirius receiver.
