After the successful installation, the product works great. I chose to go with this type versus an iPod dock just for the flexibility to use any mp3 player. The only issue was during the installation. The maker, PIE has a leaflet style installation sheet. It says:
"For radios with 'BAND' button, jumper must be in 'XM' position" My 2004 Venture has a 'BAND' button. Problem solved. Not so fast. The rest of the instructions say: "for radios WITHOUT 'BAND' button, jumper must be in 'CHANGER' position(Uses CD/AUX button to access changer mode or Aux-input)" Well, this is a bit confusing because my factory radio clearly has a BAND button AND a CD/AUX button. My gut told me to choose CHANGER, but I didn't listen and instead re-crimped the connector. Still didn't work. As I mentioned, my 2004 Venture radio has a rocker style button with BAND on one side and CD/AUX on the other. If you have this style factory radio, choose the "CHANGER" position and you'll be all set. Oh yeah...if you have a gut feeling about something, don't do like I did...listen to it.

Very good way to add an AUX Input to your stock stereo. This product is for people who want to stay with the stock stereo - perhaps because of the steering wheel controls or other options.
Installation was pretty easy. Tapping into a 12V source was the trickiest part. Works great with my 2005 Silverado. Sound is good. Highly recommended. So a web search to find plenty of installation tips from people who have used the product.

The product works as advertised but requires some effort to install. I installed it in my 2005 Yukon XL and it took about two hours because I took my time to solder the power and ground connections along with fishing wires up through the dash to my Sirius receiver.

This does exactly as advertised. After years trying to play my mp3 music on the Monsoon stereo with built-in XM on my 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP Comp G, I've found the perfect solution. Living between Lexington & Louisville KY, with Cincinnati just up the road, trying to find an FM frequency that was open(& stayed that way between cities)was virtually impossible with an FM converter. The static alone was enough to drive me crazy, let alone the immediate loss of music quality & interference from emerging stations as I drove. Like many newer cars, there's no cassette player, so playing through there is not an option, as I do with other cars we have...decent, but still not that great quality-wise. I travel often for work so I've been impressed & a bit jealous with the very new rental cars having an auxiliary input jack. Crisp, clear music from my Blacberry's music player every time. Well, this device was shipped from CA to KY very quickly, got it today & installed it in a total of maybe 30 minutes. Simple, easy & now I have a 1/8" stereo input jack mounted in my dash (just below the trip computer for those of you with Grand Prixs). The operation & sound quality equal what has been factory installed on those rentals. I had considered switching to an aftermarket stereo with an auxiliary input, but now I've saved the expense, my built-in XM & my steering wheel controls. Thanks for a great product!!!

We wanted an Ipod input to our '04 Impala car radio, and since the radio can't be replaced easily, this fits the bill. Hookup required a bit of dashboard disassembly, but with the internet, directions for most cars are out there. Only gripe is that there isn't an input level control; we have to crank up the output on the Ipod to get it to the same level as the FM radio. Overall, works about a million times better than any of the many FM couplers we've tried.

I installed this in my 2004 Tahoe. It installed easily and quickly. I just used two wiretaps to connect it to the factory power and ground. On my 04 Tahoe the larger orange cable was the constant power and the black with grey stripe was the ground. That was probably the hardest part of the whole install. I used this guide to remove the front dashboard panel, [...]. I set mine to use the XM band since I don't have an XM subscription, this was the default jumper setting.

I cam really close to replacing the factory radio in my 2005 GMC Yukon mostly because it did not have an Aux in. This thing saved me time and money. My GMC does not have satellite radio or a CD changer but does have OnStar and it worked perfectly. The dash was easy to pull out, I plugged the GM12-AUXV2 into the back of the stock radio, drilled a little hole in one of the cubbies for the cable and nice sound. No engine wine, just nice clear sound. To get to my phone, I simply press the BAND button on the radio and now it toggles between FM1/FM2/AM/AUX and the OnStar still works. One hint, I used the 3M Scotchlok T-Tap Nylon Insulated Self-Stripping Female QuickSlide 953X Disconnect 12-10 AWG (Yellow) - 100 Pieces to attach the power and ground leads from the cables going to the radio. Get this thing, you will love it.

Super straight forward if you know anything about automotive wiring. Should be easy enough even if you don't. Power and ground readily available at the 12V aux plug.

The Aux adapter works wonderfully, and in most all vehicles it will sound great provided your output device (mp3 player, phone, etc.) has a good output clarity. The device is small, easy to navigate and simple to connect, but the customer service and just how the device works is another question all together. I happen to be one of the few others that has a button which states band on the left and cd/aux on the right ( the instructions state one or the other but dont mention both) well it seems in following with the comments on here as well as the company has no idea which jumper setting you may need. expect to hook it up try it out and be ready to pull the box apart and change the jumper. Also when I asked customer service if it was possible to connect the yellow positive voltage line to the ignition line in radio wiring, so the product does not always pull juice, I was told you can hook it up to a cig lighter line. Be ready to have a wiring diagram handy for whichever (cig lighter or radio wiring) for install. I installed in a 2004 Chevy Silverado 1500 ext cab, I had to remove battery terminal requiring 8mm socket, radio and hvac controls using 7mm socket, i used two splice adapters from Walmart auto electric dept, and a Belkin 7ft RCA to 3.5 cable. I spliced the cig lighter line, orange is positive and black is ground, and placed unit underneath hvac controls on top of cig lighters inside dash.
