The GN Netcom 9120 wireless headset system is totally cordless and gives you the freedom to roam up to 300 feet from your desk. The Premium package includes everything you need, the convertible headset, charging base and the GN Netcom 1000 RHL remote answering device. Wear the headset over your head for all-day comfort and stability or remove the headband for a discreet, over-the-ear fit. Volume, mute, and ON/OFF controls are built into the earpiece. The SoundTube boom microphone style is a unique metal alloy sound tube designed to give you crisp, clear sound. It's ideal for quiet to moderately noisy environments. The GN 9120 is equipped with a multi-unit conferencing feature, which allows up to four GN 9120 headsets on the same call. To keep calls secure, the GN 9120 uses a digital spread spectrum protocol originally developed for secure military communications, and 64-bit encryption. Answer and hang up remotely! The GN 1000 RHL remote answering device allows you to answer and hang up without returning to your desk. When your phone rings you'll hear an audible signal right through your headset. To answer, simply activate your headset, and your phone's receiver will be lifted off-hook so you can take the call. The handset is also lowered back into place automatically when you end the call. The GN 9120 gives you 8 hours of continuous talk time and can be recharged within 90 minutes.

At first I was very disappointed. The first headset I received did not work. I was under the impression that I was recieving a "new" product....but the security tag with the battery was not there...so I then had to mail it back and they quickly sent me a new one. I am happy with it now. It would be nice though if, since I can answer the calls away from my desk, I could also place them on hold away from my desk....unfortunatly I can only put mute on though, then I must return to my desk, take it off mute then place the call on hold and then transfer it. A bit of a hassle. Otherwise overall is good.

I tried this headset with 2 different phones (AT&T 955 and a Polycom) and both had terrible echo when the user spoke. I heard my voice louder in the echo than the other parties voice. I called GN Netcom customer service (they were very nice and answered quickly) and they tried trouble shooting but to remove the echo meant reducing the speaking volume and the listening volume so low I had to yell so my party could hear and strain so I could hear. Maybe it would work better with different make phones.

I LOVE IT! I've been using this device for a year now and don't know how I could go back to using a regular old telephone. Being able to be on phone calls with hands free to type on the keyboard, to walk around the office (and even out to my car!), and easy controls on the headset to pick up/hang up/mute/volume control are key. The headset is light and comfortable.

The only draw back is that there is no way to make calls or to place calls on hold via the headset. Perhaps an add-on with a dialpad and/or more phone features would be nice. However, that is not one of the features they advertise, so I can't complain!
