This review is from: GN Phoenix Titanium Cricket Bat (Misc.)
A while back, I acquired a hand milled and assembled cricket bat of English willow for use against the impending zombie hordes, but I had a nagging concern over the wood's potential lack of resiliency once soaked in the semi-coagulated blood, partially liquefied organs, and viscous brain matter of the animated dead.
With this as my chief concern, I began researching newer models of cricket bat. My attention became focused on the GN model after reading the ringing endorsements of Matthew Hayden and Chris Cairns, but it was the oversized pronounced spine, which provides extra rigidity, and moderate katana-like bowing of the bat that sold me on this as the best choice.
Now, having put it to work over the past 23 days, I can confidently state that this is the finest tool available for blunt force excavation of cerebral matter from zombie skulls. The gentle tapered contour of the urethane grip provides a more efficient transfer of energy, so powering through scores of cranial pulverizations won't leave you so exhausted that hoisting oneself up to safer elevations is impossible. On top of that, after completing a dozen sweeps of the surrounding neighborhoods in order to eliminate zed incursions inside my perimeter, the lack of blemishes or wear on it would make you think that I had just unpacked this little beauty, save for the caked on viscera.
A cautionary note: A fellow survivor swore by the Stiletto TICLW12 ClawBar Titanium Nail Puller, and, up until recently, I had to admit that it was a wonderfully effective lightweight tool. Unfortunately for him, its inherent lack of inertia proved to be his downfall during a routine cleansing of a nearby convenience store. An animated war veteran with a metal plate in his head provided an unexpected and fatal obstacle for the less powerful ClawBar. On a brighter note, my GN Phoenix further illustrated its effectiveness against the steel reinforced assailant, as well as on my fallen compatriot.
