This TEV version is the same as the old Good News Bible or translation(GNB or GNT). This version of the Bible was the first version I could read and understand clearly and I continue to reccomend it for new believers and those with trouble understanding other versions. I bought this one for my teenage daghter for that reason. Though it has some doctrinal issues like not stating that it is the virgin that will have a son in Isaiah 7:14 (what sign would it be for a young women to have one?)or the word blood is used over 200 times less than in the KJV, or the footnight that says Behemoth may actually be a hippo (instead of a dinosaur like he is which would actually fit the desription) or even the fact that one of the leaders of the translating team later stated publicly that he does not really believe in the inspiration or inerrancy of the Bible. This version also contains the apocryphal writings (which I told my daughter to ignore, unless she wants to peruse them with caution, and only after she reads the rest of the Bible). I still heartily reccommend this Bible for any reader of English interested in understanding for themselves, who the one & only true & living God is and knowing what He has said to mankind.
