4.0 out of 5 stars Fun, Fast, and Flashy, January 4, 2004
A Kid's Review
This review is from: GO GO HYPERGRIND (Video Game)
I got this game for Christmas and I knew it was going to be great before I tore off the plastic shrinkwrap and popped the disc into my Gamecube. First of all, the game was created by the masters who brought Ren & Stimpy to life, so you know it will be hilarious. Second, the game uses fun cel-shaded graphics for a more cartoonish look. There are about nine levels, all completely different. There are also about nine crazy characters, from a cool fox man to a fat pig lady and a mummy girl. Here is my review:

Graphics: 9/10 Not epic graphics, but they do wonderfully for their purpose (a cartoon-like game) and they run really smooth and fast.

Sound: 7/10 Sometimes the music can get repetetive and the voices are a little quiet. You can't choose the song for the level, but you won't really notice the repetition. Overall the sound is good.

Gameplay: 10/10 The gameplay is really fast and fun. You whiz around the level, performing different reactions (such as getting started on fire, or covered with dookie, or getting decapitated) and there are lots of special tricks and ramps and rails to keep you busy. The multiplayer could be a little more flexible, since you can only play two people at once, but you can always take turns.

This is one really fun game, and at $20 you can't go wrong.

5.0 out of 5 stars My Love For Cartoon Violence Lives, December 29, 2003

There is nothing wrong with a person my age (19) who still watches cartoons on Saturday mornings and plays video games. I first played this game at a mall. Once I saw it, I knew I wanted it. These are ingredients that make good entertainment for me.
This is a skateboarding game starring cartoon animals. I call em Tony Hawk's illegally owned pets. I especially like Decker the dog character. Wile E. Coyote has nothin on him. SpumCo was actually involved in making this game. Remember SpumCo? The creators of Ren & Stimpy? No wonder it's this oblivious. And I'm dying to show my friends this.
I just love this game. It gets me going. Not even all the Rockstar Energy Drinks in the Western Hemisphere can hype me up as much as this.
Note: No animals were harmed in the making of this game.

One may take one look at this game and quickly dismiss it. It is easily one of the strangest games ever, to say the least. But if you get over the weirdness, you'll like it right away.

Gameplay:
The gameplay sees you skate around 8 different giant skateparks or, "sets". In order to win, you most get the highest score, not only by skating, but also inflicting damage on yourself by using "Negitave Reactions". These are hammers, blades, apes, paint, and MUCH more. One is even a port-a-potty that covers you in... well, something. There are also other game modes such as Races, Battles, and Freeride. You can do these and more in multiplayer, too.

Grapichs and Sound:
The graphics in this game are gorgeous. The cel-shaded look really captivates you. the characters (which include a rude monkey, an overwieght pig, and a weird banana-man to name a few) also look great. Your character also gets crushed, speared, and beheaded in a very funny way. The music is by a japanese punk rock band that sounds very nice. Each level has it's own song. Sometimes it may be irritating, but not often.

Closing:
If you can get past the weirdness and some slight problems, you'll find one of the gamecube's best. I highly recommend it.

Go!Go!Hypergrind! is one one of the best games ever!!! Made by Spumco who made Ren and Stimpy. (Well mostly by Spumco) It's not known a lot,but really it's a title. Okay now I'll talk about the game. It's a very funny game espeisly it's moives!!! It has a negateve reaction system were you can get your freaky character indjured for points but I mean indjured by getting your characteres head get chopped off or catch them on fire ect.
(No blood) You skateboard in this game. If you fall you don't get any points. When it loads you get to be the instrutor and try to ollie(jump) on a target! Sorry I have a lot more time left I have a lot more to tell you.

Grachics 9\10

Music 3\10

Funny 9\10

Negate reaction 10\10

Final 10\10

P.S. You need to know math!

4.0 out of 5 stars The best game out there!!!, December 16, 2003
This review is from: GO GO HYPERGRIND (Video Game)
Why is it the best? I'll tell you! This game's characters were drawn by the person who drew the "Ren and Stimpy" characters. And on top of that, you get to have your character deformed in many ways, I.E. Decapatation, Punctures through the body, catching on fire, etc. There are no downfalls to this game, however, it's not as good as Tony Hawk in real-life skating terms, but if you need a BIG laugh, this game is for you.

This game is absoulutly the best, the only thing is that when you begin to skate borad it turns blank for a sec. Which always gets annoying. You then have to wait for a ten secs for it to load.I highly recommend to all of those who love skateboarding. If you play for a long time it sonetimes gets a little bit boring who cares this game rocks.
